TOOL have been confirmed as direct support for METALLICA on August 15 at the Jamsil Olympic Main Stadium in Seoul, Korea. This concert will mark TOOL's first-ever Korean appearance and METALLICA's first show in the country since April 1998. More support bands will be announced soon. Tickets are available at this location.
TOOL's fourth full-length album, "10,000 Days", debuted at No. 1 on The Billboard 200 and has sold one million copies in the seven weeks since its release.
METALLICA drummer Lars Ulrich told England's BBC Radio 1 that the group's new album is likely to be released in the summer or early autumn of 2007. Ulrich explained, "I think we've realized that the creative process works a little slower for us than it used to, and we're OK with that. It's not a bad thing, unless, of course, you're waiting for a record." Ulrich added that the band now is far more relaxed than the turbulent state in which it recorded 2003's "St. Anger". The drummer said, "Everybody's getting along, having a great time...Back on ('St. Anger'), it was just a very different experience 'cause we had to kind of get it back together. Now everything's cool."
That and suing your fans is not a very good business decision.
St. Anger: Worst Metallica album ever.
LIFE COACH PING!!!
First St. Anger, and now touring with the vastly inferior Tool. Bring back Jason. Maybe it'll help.
Tool absolutely kicks ass. "Schism" is one of my favorite songs of all time. That guitar riff and keyboard solo near the end of the song gives me goosebumps.
Sez you. Their music is better than today's bubble-gum pop masquerading as rock now.
Nowadays, Metallica should be opening for Tool.
I disagree... I think lars is a great drummer.. I seen metallica in concert a few years ago kid rock opened for them... great show. :)
Lars isn't bad, it's just that they gave him tin cans for drums on St. Anger. I think most don't like him because it doesn't seem metal to speak out against file-sharing.
oh... "st. anger".. I never listened to that one much... I'm more a fan of the older albums...
or "ride the lightning" i don't like tool at all... :\
I'll agree with you there.
Tool is a throwback to 70s classic rock (think Rush for example), which is why I like them.
The Tool statement was in response to Extremist. I used to have a line from "Creeping Death" in my tagline, but no one got it and thought it was eerie.
I play guitar and know MOST of metallica's songs. :)
We could have proven that they were corporate whores but at least we would have gotten something listenable.
Tool is the Iron Maiden of the 90s. Not a fan of Maynard's other stuff but Tool's Undertow album is terrific.
I don't know. Load and Reload were pretty terrible.
What is up with the drumming on St. Anger? Clang, clang, clang, clang. Lars sucks.
So let it be written
So let it be done
I'm sent here by the chosen one
So let it be written
So let it be done
To kill the first born Pharoah's son
I'm creeping death.

I'm glad somebody else noticed. I thought Reload was great. A long time ago a friend lent me a CD with "Fuel" and "The Memory Remains" on it and from then on I was hooked on heavy metal.
Die, (DIE! DIE! DIE!) by my hand. I creep across the land, killing firstborn man.
I would disagree. I though Load and Reload were dreadful. St. Anger wasn't even listenable. They have one of the best guitar players on the planet and they don't let him solo?
