A transgender woman is alleging discrimination against a state trooper who called her “buddy” and “guy” and arrested her after she was caught speeding, flipped off the trooper, then stepped into traffic on Interstate 495.
Clairese Renee Morgan of Malden has filed a complaint with the Massachusetts Commission Against Discrimination and wants troopers to go through mandatory training in transgender issues, according to Bay Windows newspaper.
Morgan was traveling between 95 and 100 mph on Interstate 495 north when a trooper from the Andover State Police Barracks pulled her over April 28. Morgan told the paper the trooper repeatedly referred to her as “buddy” and “guy” though she asked him not to. She said the trooper’s rude behavior continued after he wrote a ticket, which he tossed in her car’s window, then walked away.
Morgan got out of her car, flipped off the trooper, then walked on to the highway to flag down passing cars in the hopes of getting a witness to the exchange. At that point, the trooper got out of the car and she was arrested for allegedly disturbing the peace.

Seriously, I agree and while I generally do not care very much what people do in their private lives, I have never been able to work up any any compassion for these people. I wonder if perhaps there is some visceral disgust with the concept at a very primal level?

Flipping someone the finger is OK but calling some guy "buddy" is not? I don't get it.

Let's think about this: If I cut off a leg, would that make me a monopod -- or an amputee? If I cut off all my limbs would that make me a snake (rather a fat snake) or an amputee? If I cut of this and (after a series of injections) grew a pair of those, and had a surgeon sculpt one of them down thar, would that make me a woman, or a mutilated man?
It may be that discarding and drawing three can make a pair a full house, but I don't see that surgery makes somebody what they weren't before.

“His attitude was, he didn’t want to talk to me, he didn’t want to deal with me, he didn’t want to do anything with me,” said Morgan of DeMarco’s demeanor prior to her arrest. She called DeMarco’s action of backing his car away as she approached him as “basically, the big ‘F’ you.”
“I feel that he was so disgusted with even having to deal with me that when he saw the opportunity to bust me he jumped on it,” said Morgan. She alleges that the trooper continued to refer to her by male terms at the state police barracks where she was processed, at one point asking “Well, are you male or female?”

Haven't been to the NE for a good many years, but 95 to 100 mph seems excessive. Speeds in that range would be reasonable & proper for the the wide open spaces of West Texas, New Mexico or Montana, but not in the NE. "She" is fortunate that "she" or someone else is not in the hospital.
