Duke Rape Case Defense: Throw Out DA Nifong and Photo ID

Accused Duke lacrosse player Reade Seligmann's attorneys want Durham County District Attorney Mike Nifong thrown off the case.

Today, they filed a legal motion specifically asking for it.

"DA Mike Nifong neglected his duty as a prosecutor to seek the truth and a fair prosecution," the defense's motion reads.

The motions were filed just 24 hours before Nifong's Tuesday election in which he's fighting to keep his seat. Nifong is being challenged by former prosecutor Freda Black and private lawyer Keith Bishop

Didn't know they were doing a second test. I just heard that the DNA test produced some DNA, but it wasn't from any of the Lacrosse players.

I guess there could be two divergent theories: Either she's lying thru her teeth, and had voluntary sex with other men, or she really was raped, but not by these guys.

I think that as a prosecutor, you act on the assumption that she was raped, as she claims, until you have evidence otherwise. The DNA supports her claims, but it obviously disproves that the Lacrosse players did it. You'd think that the prosecutor would be looking for other possible perps to test. Who else was at the party?

Or maybe you are interested in testing her boy friend.

That should help keep them away. . .

If the defense lurks here, that idiot Maleek Shabazz, in a radio interview on friday, claimed that he had spoken with Nifong about the case. Of course, he is dillusional anyway.

But if it is true, and Nifong did indeed speak with him, (esp. after refusing to speak with the defense with pictures) I would at least use this to gain a change in venue.

Thank goodness she wasn't bit!Wife has been bitten twice in the last two weeks.Once on the leg,the last one on her stomach.The doctor measured the depth at 2 inches.Nasty is too kind a word.We think we have narrowed it down to her closet,as the entrance to the attic is located there.We cleaned out the closet,went through her clothes,and bombed the daylights out of it.Very glad your girls are okay.I cant imagine a little one being bitten by one of these.I worry as my grandchildren spend a lot of time here.Wife said she never felt a thing when she was bitten.It starts out as a little pimple,only to morph into a big wound.

It's just called "MSM". (There's a much longer name which those initials stand for, but I can't pronounce it.)

Some people claim that if taken internally it has all sorts of health benefits, but I think those claims have been largely disproven.

However, it does neutralize this kind of spider poison (if you can get it to the poison).

After being bitten I had a enormous wound on my leg, larger than a silver dollar, which oozed pus and blood for a week (as the poison expanded its area of destruction).

But, I didn't have to have a skin graft or other expensive treatment, and now all I have to show for it is a nice, nearly perfectly round scar on my leg (about which I weave fantastic stories for whoever will listen)
