Bringing Mary Home

I was driving down a lonely road a dark and stormy night
When a little girl by the roadside showed up in my headlights
I stopped and she got in the back and in a shakey tone
She said my name is Mary please won't you take me home?
She must have been so frightened all alone there in the night
There was something strange about her cause her face was deathly white
She sat so pale and quiet in the back seat all alone
I never will forget the night I took Mary home
I pulled into the griveway where she told me to go
Got out to help her from the car and opened up the door
But I just could not believe my eyes the back seat it was bare
I looked all around the car but Mary wasn't there
A light shone from the porch someone opened the door
As I walked toward the house I wondered more and more
What happened to the little girl so frightened and forlorn
Could I have just been dreaming bringing Mary home?
I walked up to the lady who was standing in the door
And asked about the little girl that I was looking for
She gently smiled and with her hand she brushed a tear away
And said it sure was nice of you to go out of your way
But thirteen years ago today in a wreck just down the road
Our darling Mary lost her life and we still miss her so
Thank you for your troubles and the kindness you have shown
You're the thirteenth one who's been here bringing Mary home

I love these stories, too!

Most of the time there is something frustrating about them. In this case, since the floor layers were so concerned and saw the girl several times why didn't they pull up and one person gets out and goes up to her to talk to her? They should have done that. The featureless face is a tad creepy but still a girl all alone like that doesn't seem to be a threatening situation for the men.

I always want these witnesses in these stories to go up to the subject and talk to them and even touch them.

Last night at the dance I met Laurie,
So lovely and warm, an angel of a girl.
Last night I fell in love with Laurie -
Strange things happen in this world.

As I walked her home,
She said it was her birthday.
I pulled her close and said
"Will I see you anymore?"
Then suddenly she asked for my sweater
And said that she was very, very cold.

I kissed her goodnight
At her door and started home,
Then thought about my sweater
And went right back instead.
I knocked at her door and a man appeared.
I told why I'd come, then he said:

"You're wrong, son.
You weren't with my daughter.
How can you be so cruel
To come to me this way?
My Laurie left this world on her birthday -
She died a year ago today."

A strange force drew me to the graveyard.
I stood in the dark,
I saw the shadows wave,
And then I looked and saw my sweater
Lyin' there upon her grave.

Hello Freeper Ghost ping friends! I just wanted to mention that the new movie coming out in theaters on May 5 called "AN AMERICAN HAUNTING" is based on the Bell Witch. I have seen it and its pretty creepy. The ending will surprise you though. I'm surprised that the Bell family (or their decendants) havent sued yet!

Did any of you see the new episode of Ghost Hunters last night where they visited the Florida Light House? Man that was creepy! These guys are getting better footage this season. This weekened they are running a marathon of all the episodes.
