At least they left the helmet alone. I like the purple pants.

The 3rd to last pick is the real look of the Vikes, frustrated, everything else is just trim.

At least it's better than the Titans and Bills. They look like high school teams from the late 1940's.

Amazing! They look like football uniforms!
I think they should try some kind of spined armored exoskeleton, really make it interesting.

Fran Tarkenton & Co did pretty good in the old uniforms.

I remember when the Steelers beat them in Super Bowl IX.
Steelers first Super Bowl win of five.
The Steel Curtain dominated.

It could have been worse.
Glad to see they didn't jump on the "Black uniforms make us look cool" bandwagon. Ever since they announced a change in March, I have been worried they would unveil some all black with a few purple stripes POS.

It did do wonders for the Broncos.
To: Spruce
No kidding. A la Duke basketball uniforms, which look terrible.
I've always thought the Dolphins could actually do black, though, but mainly because their uniforms would freaking glow with that aqua and orange.
To: mainepatsfan
The old ones were better.

The Broncos used to have the worst uniforms in the NFL.
Since their switch, I'd say it is the Vikings. This new "change" is no improvement.

You're right. Where are the horned helmets, the broadswords, the metal breastplates? They really have not made any attempt at authenticity. I'll bet they don't even have a drugged, naked berserker.

It was really a defensive battle.
I thought the game might wind up 2-0 for the final score.
Both teams had great defenses that were much better than their offenses. Both teams got to the SB on "D".
Back in those days the rules allowed much rougher play.

The Vikings haven't looked right since they moved into a domed stadium. Carl Eller, stalking the sidelines with that purple cape and the steam coming out of his nostrils is what the Vikings are supposed to look like.

The Bengals outfits are OK with me, but why shouldn't everyone hate the Ravens?
I do have an attitude toward teams that leave their fan base. I was quite disappointed when the Ravens won the SB after changing their name and home town.
The Sports Gods were quite remiss in their responsibilities to fans everywhere by allowing that to happen.

Amen!
A little-known tidbit: The old Metropolitan stadium had steam pipes that ran under the field, to thaw the field, along the hash marks. The Vikes would call defensive plays designed to keep the opposition between these 'thawed' areas. On the frozen parts.
They designed most of their offensive plays to keep our ball-carriers on the steam pipes where they could get traction and not get tackled onto frozen, concrete-like turf.

They will give absolutely no allegiance to the Ravens.

The "Purple People Eaters" were one of the best defenses to ever play football.
The Vikes won many games on "D" in those days. Joe Kapp and then Tarkington at QB.

Why have NFL uniforms--particularly the newer designs--keep looking worse and worse? Not that I really care, but there are a LOT of incredibly lame uni's in this league.

You got that right! If the NFL had kept stats for sacks back then, Alan Page would be the Undisputed sack King of the NFL. Followed closely by Carl Eller, Jim Marshall, and Gary Larsen.
They also prided themselves on the ability to block kicks. Field-goals and extra points were nightmares against them
