April 27, 2006 - A murder suspect who led police on a high-speed freeway chase has been halted on a Los Angeles freeway interchange. However, the suspect is reported to not be cooperating by throwing down his gun.
The suspect in a black Nissan Maxima is believed to have tossed another weapon from the vehicle at one point.
Speeds reached 90 miles an hour.
Police in about one dozen patrol cars are at the scene.

Murder suspect shot after police chase across SoCal freeways

An armed murder suspect was shot and wounded Thursday after leading police on a freeway chase during morning rush hour, authorities said.
Police were investigating whether the unidentified man shot himself or was hit by gunfire from officers, said Torrance police Officer Dave Crespin.
"I know he's injured, and I don't know if it's self-inflicted or from us," he said.
The shooting occurred after about a dozen patrol cars surrounded a black Nissan Maxima on the transition road from the northbound 405 to the southbound 110 freeways in the Carson area.
The man may be connected to an earlier shooting in Torrance.
"There was a domestic situation last night," Torrance police Sgt. Mastick said. "One person was killed, a man. This is possibly a suspect in that."
The suspect may have tossed a weapon from the vehicle at one point during the chase that reached 90 mph, police said.
