WILL SHE BE IMPEACHED? (TV's Commander-In-Chief)
The Drudge Report ^ | Thu Apr 13 2006 | Matt Drudge

ABC is preparing to dismiss the first female president of The United States -- after less than a year on the job!

While it is not clear if the country is ready for a woman to take the title of COMMANDER IN CHIEF, TV executives at ABC have all but decided to pull the plug on the breakthrough drama, top sources tell the DRUDGE REPORT.

MORE

"No one here will say publicly that it's over [for the show]," a well-placed insider said this week from Los Angeles. 'But it is over."

The program returns this evening after a long recess -- with the president's husband groping an intern!

THE IMPEACHABLE OFFENSE: LOW VIEWERSHIP

ABC suits will not renew COMMANDER unless audience levels can hold a 15 share, a source claims. The show crashed from a high of nearly 17 million viewers for its second episode to 10.4 million for its last, Jan. 24.

Geena Davis as President Mackenzie was launched with much fanfare and topical news crossover:

A search of the NEXIS database shows 918 press stories containing the terms "Geena Davis" and "Hillary Clinton."

"On 'COMMANDER IN CHIEF,' art can now imitate life," cheered the SAINT PAUL PIONEER PRESS.

But at season's end, the New York senator's handlers are surely hoping that real life does not imitate the art.

They will never officially cancel this show due to the implications.

Oh well...looks like the DNC hacks in the media will have to find another way to brainwash Americans into thinking that Hillary! would be a reasonable choice for president.

Anyone who thinks that this show was anything other than a propaganda effort to benefit her looming candidacy is reality impaired.

I caught the first 5-10 mins last night. The First Man, (her hubby) was at some gala event drinking champagne and stumbled in the parking lot and grabbed an interns boob by mistake. The cameras caught it. The next morning Ms. Pres. was in the kitchen cooking an omeltte and started to argue with her "First Man. Her MOM (yes her mon) comes in and makes a comment about it which Geena replies to her "Mom Please!" What a ridiculuous show!

Hey! You're bursting my bubble that Hollywood is full of original-thinking writers that reflect America at its best!

Think about the "Commander-in-Chief" show. Now think about "24". Pretty funny, eh?

Gina Davis used to be hot, but (sadly) none of the many chances she's been given on TV have panned out. She should have stayed married to Jeff.

This is real news! The last I heard it was the hottest show on TV. Guess Americans are too smart for stuff like this. Bring us "Desperate Housewives"!

I don't watch it, but I would rather have Desperate Housewives on TV than propoganda like Commander-In-Chief.

ABC announced that a new show called "Hail to the Chief" will debut in the former time slot of "Commander-in-Chief."

The new show will be nothing like the old one, said ABC. In the new show, following an unusual series of events, a senator from New York with terrible cankles is elevated to the highest office in the land. The show will raise the daring question, is the country ready for a president with terrible cankles?

The network has denied that the new show is intended to build support for the presidential candidacy of Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton of New York.

I watched last night's episode, and it was easy to tell that the show was dying. You could almost hear the "tick, tick, tick" of the countdown timer (ala "24" style...)

That being said, the show really slammed the DNC (yes, the DNC!) towards the end of the hour. For those who didn't watch/refused to watch/whatever, one of the DNC cronnies drugged the First Hubbie's drink, causing him to stumble, appear drunk and then grope the hottie. Basically, it was all a setup. And, they got caught.

I watched it too (actually I worked on a model and listened while my girlfriend watched). I loved the part where at the very last minute she decided to give the SOTU address from the Oval Office. Now in the show the reason was that she was mad at Congress for passing her bill with an amendment which she then had to veto.

I think that the real reason was that they did not have the budget to recreate the House chambers and fill it with actors. The story reason sure seemed childish and/or cowardly. The address itself was sure liberal Hollywood preachy. I think this show is dead in the water.
