The Dragon Flies' Lair~ Thread XXVI~March 28, 2006

My Dragon Fly and Me

If I could be a Dragon Fly
and wing my way through the sky
I would never be shy
just me and my Dragon Fly!

By moonlight we ride the wind
chase the comets tail for fun
by day we would hide from the sun
our fragile wings would come undone

On darkest nights we would use
fireflies as our guide
we would dip and we would glide
through the heavens open wide
and scatter diamonds in the night sky
my Dragon Fly and me...

And we would wing past our lovers
silent in the night...
to kiss their face in our flight
much to their surprise and delight
my Dragon Fly and me in sight...

Such a view do we share
away up here in the air
of breezes soft through our hair
my Dragon Fly and me a pair...

New Thread!

Cool.

Ah the joys of spring:
Stuffy nose or else it's running,
Asthma in the coming,
My heart, it is a-humming
with Albuterol and Flo-vent,
Sudafed and sleep's spent,
Ah pollen that I am not allegic to,
Aftershaves and perfumes ewww,
The mysteries life poses,
Like Flonase smelling like roses.

Ah, the allergies of spring abound
everyone packing tissues by the pound
sneezing, sneezing, pollens explode
hoarse voices making us all sound like toads.

Yep. Haven't had a problem with paint and lacquer...yet. However, my list seems to be growing as I get older. The first was perfume. And hairspray? I have to make hair appointments in the early morning before the salon is steeped in it. Cleaning solvents have progressed to the level where I hold my breath when I'm in the aisle to pick up dish soap. I am very thankful that I do not suffer from allergies to flowers and plants in general. Just the chemicals used to copy their fragrance.

Glad you like it Ms Feather. I've been told that the Lair is a magical place where anything can happen. So, the Lair can have a veranda in a full-blooming garden during March. Don't forget about the ballet class later on!

Some say it magic
some say it peace
some say it's quiet
and some a change of pace.

I hope it's all of these things in one
with lots of fun packed in, too,
with haiku, and poetry flowing freely
dancing with the muse.

That's very nice. I think you can safely say that you have accomplished all that. Here's my serious poetic posting for the day (so far). A sweetly succinct poem by e.e. cummings.

truth is here
