This is a horse chat thread where we share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share. In the previous threads we have had a great time talking through lessons, training, horse lamenesses, illnesses and pregnancies... and always sharing pictures and stories.
I always have a link to this thread on my profile page, so if you have something to say and can't find the thread in latest posts… look for it there and wake the thread up!
I also have a ping list for horse threads that are of interest, and MissTargets will now be pinging everyone most mornings. Let MissTargets and/or me know if you would like to be on the ping list. As FreeRepublic is a political site, our politics and other issues will probably blend in…. There are many issues for horsemen that touch politics… land use, animal rights/abuse cases that make the news…. Legislation that might affect horse owners.
So... like the previous threads, this is intended as fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends. There are lots of ways of doing things and we all have our quirks, tricks and specialties that are neat to learn about.

I can't wait to go see him. I would like to go tomorrow but the vets off on Mondays and I wanted to talk with him.
We decide when we get where we are going. We were sleeping in the van but it's full of airplane parts now. I had such a good time at the airport.

thursday where that horse pulling a cart with the mayors wife bolt? He ran around everyone in the parade until he caught up with the horse cart ahead of him. I guess he thought he was getting left.
I heard something about it but didn't know what happened. Was anybody hurt?
And, remember the young couple who bought Speed? He was over today, learning to ride - first time ever on a horse and he did great. He's riding Speed's momma.
Someone always does and they are generally a tourist from out of state, and they always say, I only put twenty bucks in :)
That is a beautiful baby and what a pretty head! He has an hour glass blaze.
I just saw the news. She was taken to the hospital but was reported not serious. The cart didn't flip and no one fell out.
My mouth (or fingers) move a lot faster than my brain unfortunately :)
She probably nearly had a coronary, that's why they took her to the hospital. :)
That's funny. Sometimes I hammer back at someone then the next day think, why the heck did I say that???

And I agree with everyone else on that blaze. It's really nice-looking.
She does - maybe I can come up with a barn name that is a play on time :) She is a sweetheart and I think she'll be a gorgeous mare, although probably fairly big. We didn't do much imprinting on her last night, although today she met the world. Her momma was a maiden mare and we wanted to make sure they bonded.
I'm bad about - shoot, I didn't ;mean that the way it sounded. I have a bad habit of not fully explaining myself, I just assume others can read my mind and it causes all sorts of problems.
I said "he" didn't I? I meant "she". ;)
I'm open to suggestions for a name. Her registered name will be TE Classy Jax but I haven't come up with a barn name for her. Her mom is TE Class Fantasy (Fanny) and her dad is Jax O'Lena (Jax).
We have two dogs with us. Yesterday we were going down the road 75, maybe 80 and they got in a fight under my Dad's leg. He was able to put a choke hold on the agressor and pull over but it was a fast stop. I got out and built a dam of bags to keep the big one in the back!
:) She seems dainty, even though she's good sized and has really long legs.
