DIRECTOR Steven Spielberg says moviemakers have become much more politically vocal since the re-election of President George W. Bush.
In remarks released by Newsweek magazine yesterday, Spielberg said: "I just feel that filmmakers are much more proactive since the second Bush Administration.
"I think that everybody is trying to declare their independence and state their case for the things that we believe in. No one is really representing us, so we're now representing our own feelings, and we're trying to strike back."
Seen the Hollywood box office figures lately, Steve? I don't think the public likes your attitude!!!
Even if you disagree with Spielbergs personal views, at least here in America you can make whatever movie you want.

From what I've seen of Hollyweird filmmakers and what they 'believe' in, they don't need representation, they need an exorcism.

I took my wife to see Glory Road. Good movie. She had a nachos and water, they cost $10, plus the $18 admission for the two of us. I don't think this could have anything to do with the falling ratings.
I gather that many Jews are on his case. Didn't help when the actual agents involved said they did not share his "ambivalence." He lives in his own little suburban bubble.
