I saw Sam Kinison right before the 1988 election. A bunch of people sitting in front of us had Dukakis and Metzenbum buttons. Sam opens his show by telling us what a loser Dukakis is, and how he reminds him of some Ramada Inn lounge lizard trying to hit on the waitresses.

I agree on BASEketball, on the whole, it was pretty dumb. If anyone else would have made it, they would have mocked it... "Rob Schneider is, a stapler! Dooop de dooop de dooopidy doop!"

But hey - last night we saw Cannibal! The Musical The film Trey and Matt did when they were in college.

It's bizarre and weird, and a blast. And I'm told the commentary track is hilarious, but we haven't watched that ~yet~.

It is a rotten idea to make a movie about.

South Park is sort of like a modern Punch and Judy show, though. When the English of Defoe's or Dickens's times went to see puppets strangling and bludgeoning each other, they didn't take it as a serious presentation of an alternative morality system. Maybe that's because people felt that morality was so secure in basic things that nobody thought puppet violence was a threat to society. Sadly, that may have changed by now if the only moral instruction or education people get comes from television.
