Merry Christmas can't be said for it might offend someone. However, promotion of gay trash isn't supposed to offend anyone.

Sorry, there isn't an ad budget big enough to make "When Heath Met Jake" something I want to see.

It is, after all, Turner BS.
You have to consider the source.

And the ad isn't respectable, either if that is possible.
If it were a violent film or a film with lots of sex, they would have toned it down a bit. But not Brokeback mountain -- scenes of men hugging and families crying and being destroyed.

I know. Too bad it was played during the perfect (IMHO) family movie.
A non-PC movie. The boy actually likes guns. So few of these today.

I'm certain you'll get a response.
I'll lay some big odds that you won't be happy with it.

Agreed. As well as 99% of the A Christmas Story audience.
Brokeback Mountain is certain to be a flop.
So, why did TBS run the ad over and over and over again?
BTW, removed TBS from my channel lineup. Wont be watching their station anymore.

Looking forward to it.
I make it a point to challenge the media, mostly local, when they are just wrong. Usually a one or two word response to a well thought out challenge.
The classic response is something like "sorry" or "whatever".

I'm surprised, when I watched A Christmas Story last night the only movie I saw advertised was the Little Red Riding Hood cartoon that is coming out. I would have thought that they would have advertised during the entire 24 hours of A Christmas Story.

Why should they advertise something they've done every year for the last 10 years?
To: dhs12345
So, why did TBS run the ad over and over and over again? TBS isn't the only one running that deceptive add.

"Merry Christmas can't be said for it might offend someone. However, promotion of gay trash isn't supposed to offend anyone."So true, friend, so true. I'd call it 'ironic', but in truth........it's thoroughly disgusting. Makes me ashamed of my own country.

I also had the unfortunate experience of catching the first few seconds of the homosexual movie ad as I was watching A Christmas Story with my two young children. I immediately clicked over to the parental feature on my cable box and added TBS to the blocked list to keep company with MTV and Bravo. I have also fired off a protest email to TBS.
You can bet that some activist, in-your-face homosexual in the TBS sales group sold the ad placement during a family movie on purpose. It's just another way of recruiting future homosexuals to them.

What about the gay conspiracy to invade Christmas carols?
(sorry...I'm joking here...:) )
"Don we now our gay apparel"--Deck the Halls
"...and gay happy meetings"-- It's the Most Wonderful
Time of the Year
And:
Have yourself a merry little Christmas,
Make the Yule-tide gay.
Then there's Sleigh Ride:
"We're gliding along with a song
of a wintry fairy land"
Must be San Francisco.
And in other songs:
Sam Cooke, "Twistin' the Night Away":
"...where the people are so gay..."
And that foul, foul line from the Flintstones theme...

ROFL! Gorilla luuuuuv! Hollywood style. Which is really doggy-style.
Calling Lassie! (That part was played by male dogs, ya know.)

My GOD! Men HUGGING?!
On television?! I guess
children are goners --
If they saw that then
they're gonna grow up to be
gay. Cause and effect . . .

It sounds like the promoters of this film are desperately trying to appear respectable. Like Madonna lately, they keep clamoring for the attention of conservatives to prove how, by golly, deep down they're just as normal as you & me, and that "normal" people can enjoy this movie.

Agreed. Ninety-nine percent of people watching the A Christmas Story will not see the movie and a very large percentage of viewers will be offended.
So why put advertise the movie while families are watching -- to promote the homosexual agenda.
BTW, no response from TBS yet. Doubt I will hear from them.

Interesting,
I had "A Christmas Story" on almost all day. I don't recall seeing any ads for this movie.
I'm not doubting you.
Maybe some people are just more "sensitive" to certain subject matter than most................

Depends on the context.
I hug my son all the time.
However, it is little disgusting to see two men hugging and cuddling after homosexual sex.
It is a huge difference.

It happened during at least two (every-other) successive ads breaks. Guessing around 5:00pm Pacific time.
Also, to be fair to TBS, it could have been their normal daily ad cycle. Hope your family and kids didn't see it.

I predict we will hear from TBS. The response will be along the lines of all responses to morally outrageous conduct by perpetrators. It will go something like this: We're sorry that you were upset at -fill in the blank - and hope you understand that we must serve a "diverse" public. In one sentence they tell you that they have nothing to apologize for, they will continue the morally outrageous conduct and, by the way, you're a bigot because you've violated "diversity" rules. They must teach this in a PR 101 course in the Diversity Director degree program in college.

I have a problem with this movie's advertising and reviews. It isn't up front with the audience.
It is not mentioned that these two 'cowboys' are actually sheep-herders. To people in the know, there is a great difference especially in the 'mythos' the film makers are trying to 'cash in' on with gay contraversy. **I feel the Mel Brooks might have been more appropriate to do a film about two gay sheepherders in the mountains!
Also the two men are already married with children to women before getting involved. So there is an real element of family breaking-up here.
All these facts as compared to the simplistic way this film is being marketed to the audience is somewhat false & hypocritical. Hypocrisy sucks!
I don't patronize such phony message films.

LOL. Like the Mel Brooks reference and the reference to sheep.
From what I saw of the ad, the infidelity part of the message looks absolutely awful. Not bad, but devastating to the families involved.
Maybe there is a message: remain faithful to your family and spouse and you will not suffer the pain that these people are seen going through.
