One more thing, so far my 3 kitties have NOT discovered my new thing.. . Last week when AG and I were trying to cast on, the cats at the office were way too interested... Trouble will probably discover this shortly. When he does, it will be funny...

I have a large print of a Baltimore Album Quilt in my family room. I love it.
Never learned to quilt but have saved the scraps of everything I ever sewed for my kids and plan someday, somehow to quilt them all together.

Start a small baby quilt for one, is the advice I give to those just beginning to quilt, keep to simple patches like 4 or 9 patches and geometrics to start. A shoofly is a good beginner patch. Use low loft batting and good quilting thread. You need a quilters hoop too. Safety pins to hold the layers together.

I quilted for about 10 years. Last year I decided to quit because I hadn't really done anything for a couple of years. So I gave away all of my fabric. I did keep the cutting mats, rulers, rotary cutters, etc. I still sew though, just house stuff like decorative pillows, etc.

Looks like shoofly would work well. My "sewing room" is starting to bust out it's door and really needs to be attacked. Sounds like a good time to start cutting scraps into squares.
Thanks so much for the suggestions. As soon as I finish my 4 set of drapes and finish knitting my afghan, I'll get right on it. Dang! So many projects and so little time.
