Chief Justice Rehnquist, stalwart defender of a strict interpretation of our Constitution is dead. He served this Nation well and stubbornly fought against the debilitating illness that eventually took him. He deserves our great respect.
However, his passing now opens up the door to what, judging from demonRATS most recent past performances, will be an exercise in assorted acrimonious displays by the professional whiners and their organized legions of left-leaning loonies.
Mr. President, I inplore you to, as soon as possible, hold a press conference so that all the Nation and world may see and hear you to make the following statement:
To that end, it gives me great pleasure to submit for judicial confirmation the name of..... for Chief Justice of the United State Supreme Court.'
Sweet Baby Jesus! I can hear it now. Oh the humanity..., the sobbing..., the weeping, resounding and echoing through the demonRATic halls of congress. The protestations of NO! NO! THIS CAN'T BE!! We buried him once and he is arisen.
Oh! lordy, lordy...Take me back to the days of Edward R. Murrow. His show opens with the camera slowly moving in on him smoking his cigarette as usual, smoke wafting up and over his head, and then the camera falls away off his left shoulder to capture Sen. Kennedy, Schumer, Boxer, Leach, and so many, many others with heads bowed and fists pounding on tables and desktops in various states off emotional dissolution. Mr. Murrow advances, microphone in hand and looks for some sort of comment on the President's nomination, but is met with only incoherent babble and disconsolate sobbing. Finally Sen. Boxer bleary-eyed and dazed looking rights herself and leans in to the microphone. She attempts a remark. "I....I..., I just..ca-ca can't believe..." and as she trails off feints dead away and slides to the dusty floor. Ed turns and calmly announces that he must break so affiliated stations can identify themselves.
THIS I submit would have been fitting justice to these RATS who so unjustly pilloried him when the President nominated him the first time around. I can recall seeing the judge in Washington, DC with black politicians and black religious leaders from Mississippi standing around and making sincere testimonies of support for him and attesting to his character and fairness while; simultaneously, the demonRATS inside were accusing him of being a racist in committee hearings. As always the usual aforementioned suspects were loudest and leading the feckless charge.
I ask you FReepers...Would this not be fitting justice to frustrate these RAT bums? I want to see Judge Pickering seated at the table for his confirmation hearings with a row of black supporters, who would testify in his support, seated right behind him and with cameras rolling I want to see the demonRAT seals perform their onorous act....just one more time, for the entire Nation to see.
If you agree get off an email to president@whitehouse.gov and implore him to nominate Charles W. Pickering Sr. as William Rehnquist's replacement on the high court. It is indeed a fate devoutly to be wished.
L-E-T-'S R-O-L-L
You put this everywhere except where it belongs: vanity.
BTTT! :)
Does he now, or has he ever known or worked with Anita Hill?
The Left has been demanding that O'Connor be replaced with a moderate to 'maintain the balance.' Think they'll demand a staunch conservative to replace Renquist? Suuuuuuuuure they will...
Rudi
Rehnquist just died. Can we not?
"Justice Coulter" has more than just a nice "ring to it".
I'd much rather see Bush nominate Janice Rogers Brown. Even if she didn't get confirmed, it would be worth it to see the Democrats stroke out.
My preference is Edith Jones.
How about Bork?
You want to see fireworks? You really want to see the dems with their panties in a bunch? hehehe Get Roberts in then Nominate Thomas for Cheif Justice leaving his seat open and fill it with Janice Rogers Brown.
This is an easy one: Janice Rogers Brown
That is a scenario I would LOVE to see.
Too bad the racists on the Left will fight it every inch of the way. The idea that anyone of color should succeed on merit is athema to everything they hold dear and true.
Do you mean Edith Clement? Edith Jones was the moderate the left wanted Bush to pick for the moderator O'Conner's seat.
J. Michael Luttig is the perfect choice to replace a solid conservative like Rehnquist.
Perhaps because he's almost as old as Rehnquist was?
Yes, but right now would be the perfect time to try to get it done what with all the race baiting that the main stream media has been of.
And what could the dems say? They would only show the world their true racist colors if they objected right now.
