Anette Pharris, 34, hired a stripper, Cassandra Joyce Park, 29, to dance at son's 16th birthday.

Cassandra Joyce Park, 29, left, who police say used the stage name "Sassy,"
danced at the 16th birthday party for Landon Harris, right, in September.
Oh yeah, VERY mature.
She looks like a stripper.
I'm surprised she didn't strip for her son and his friends and maybe throw in some bedroom time.
That's apparent. Looks like "Sassy" probably needed the work.
All I know is that if my mom hired a stripper that ugly for my 16th birthday, I'd be pretty pissed off at her!
29? Yeah, right! I'm buyin' that one. From the looks of her, this woman hasn't been 29 since the first George Bush was president! If she *is* 29, she really needs to tone down the meth use a bit.
I wonder what the state statue was that she violated to get her indicted. Granted hiring a stripper is in bad taste but nudity in ones home is something else. Now if she had hired her to have sex with him, sure nuff said, so now what, throw the mom in jail and what will that do to correct things. Then again why would anyone go to a pubic photo developer with those pics. Then again why do photo developers think they need to be life moderators. And as Hedly Lamar would say while looking into camera, why am I asking you?
Just exactly what is the source of the gross overreaction to this story?
No, I never hired a stripper for either of my sons' birthdays, but I don't do rap, rock climbing, starbucks, live in trailer parks, own an ipod, mind other people's business or lots of other things.
I was wondering about that myself. I'm sure there is a law about soliciting adult entertainers for minors but it seems that having a naked adult in your home wouldn't necessarily be a crime.
At any rate, I fail to see the damage caused by having a 16 year-old boy exposed to a disturbingly ugly stripper.
White trash creep!
She probably also shows her son how to shoot up heroin. On a regular basis.
"If she *is* 29, she really needs to tone down the meth use a bit."
LOL!
No, I asked what statute the mom violated.Exposure to nudity in of itself I don't see as a crime, if it was minors would not be allowed in art museums.
I doubt whether you will get a satisfactory answer to either question here, other than "just because"...
Which one is the dancer?
She can afford a stripper but not a digital camera?
That's generally applied in the context of "consenting adults", which is not the case here.
THAT is 29? Yeah sure, maybe when Carter was the president....
yeaccchhhhhhh!!!!!
That begs the question. The rational extension of that statement is that if the brainiacs had not "outed" themselves by going to the film processor, there would be neither foul nor penalty?
There were 10 other minors there. I wonder how young, and if their parents were informed in advance that a strip show would take place.
The scary thing is that the stripper looks like a guy in drag and the kid looks like a girl.
But one cannot help but feel sorry for the stripper's father because his daughter is disrespecting herself in front of people and one cannot help but feel disgusted that a mother instead of showing her son how to respect women would go out and hire a stripper.
I really couldn't tell. Without reading the caption, I was thinking the one on the left was Mommy.
The only New Testament verse the libs know. Must be from the Book of Job.
"She can afford a stripper but not a digital camera?"
Yeah, that was her downfall. If she printed the stuff out at home no one would be the wiser. Looking at what she hired as a stripper ... she didn't pay much for it.
Maybe there are some mandatory reporting laws? Maybe there is something in child porn statutes.
The kids may not have been naked but if there were children exposed to adult nudity, it might fall under that sort of statute.
There were more kids there than just her boy.
Young Landon needs a friggin haircut.
As to the "stripper", "she" actually looks like a, er, man.
As looks go that woman's are 100% s.k.a.n.k.
"I've seen strippers. I've known strippers. And you, sir, are no stripper." -Anon
It didnt harm him, mother says of effect on 16-year-old son
The Associated Press Updated: 5:32 a.m. ET May 29, 2005
NASHVILLE, Tenn. - A mother faces criminal charges after she hired a stripper to dance at her 16-year-old sons birthday party.
Anette Pharris, 34, has been indicted by a grand jury on charges of contributing to the delinquency of a minor and involving a minor in obscene acts. The boys father, the stripper and two others also face charges.
I tried to do something special for my son, Pharris said. It didnt harm him.
About 10 people under the age of 18 were at the birthday party in September, including minors who were not related to the family, authorities said.
Police spokesman Don Aaron said minors are not permitted in adult establishments.
A person shouldnt be allowed to circumvent that law by hiring a stripper, a lady who took all her clothes off and spent a good amount of time dancing around minors, he said.
Anette Pharris took photos at the party and tried to have them developed at a nearby drug store. Drug store employees notified authorities, police said.
Who are they to tell me what I can and cant show to my own children? the mother said.
Sassy is looking pretty beat up at 29.
Notice the age?

The "mother" is 34 and her son is 16. She had her son when she was 18. Nothing like getting her son all jazzed up so he can start having kids.

"Anette Pharris said yesterday that she was coming up on her 18th wedding anniversary, "so I must be doing something right. Who are they to tell me what I can and can't show to my own children?"
The "mother" is about to celebrate her 18th wedding anniversary - so she was 24 when she finally got married. So she was a single "mother" for atleast six years. Now she's busy getting her son up to speed to follow in her footsteps. A normal mother would be cautious after having been through that. Nah, not this one. She shoves what got her into trouble IN HIS FACE.
She's a very mature 29.
If she's telling the truth, she was married at 16. I guess that makes her somewhat of an expert on mature 16-year-olds.
Hard to believe but sone parents DON'T want better for their children.
yeah....right....she probably looked 29 when she was 12
"At any rate, I fail to see the damage caused by having a 16 year-old boy exposed to a disturbingly ugly stripper."
It might make him think twice about having sex until he is married.
VERY mature at 12, I'm sure.
LOL
yecc
That's probably when she started table-dancing.
I was in line at the grocery store yesterday when the cashier told the person in front of me that he would have to go to another line because she was not old enough to ring up the beer that the guy was buying. He looked at her and asked how old she was. She replied "17". The guy puzzled. When I looked at the cashier, she appeared to me to be in her mid to late 50's. I felt so sorry for her because she is going to have to deal with that for quite a while. But, she can probably buy beer for herself anywhere, without question.
she was 17 and looked 50?!? ouch
"he was 17 and looked 50?!? ouch"
Yep, I couldn't help staring at her in disbelief the whole time I was in line. When I got closer to the register, I saw they had a sign saying "no alcohol in this line, underage cashier". She wasn't unattractive...for a 50+ year old.
Let's see.....34-16=18...-9 months=17....
I'm start to get a picture of her well developed sense of values.
There were ten non-related minors there. You think someone should be able to take someone else's kids and do whatever they want with them?
LOL
Did you not fully understand my question and if you do , do you know the answer. I already stated I didn't think it was a good idea, my question was what statute was violated.
Don't ask, don't tell.
