I don't see why people are biting on the hook over Bush and the Evil Empire in Star Wars. Lucas is possibly mis-reading his feelings on the force.

I don't see why people are biting on the hook over Bush and the Evil Empire in Star Wars. Lucas is possibly mis-reading his feelings on the force. His judgment is clouded by his politics. There is plenty of evidence that the United Nations with all the corruption and doing things like appointing human right abusers to the council on human rights; standing by while genocide occurs in Africa; helping Sadam Hussien get around the U.N.'s own embargo with the food for oil scam; ALL QUALIFY THE U.N. FOR EVIL EMPIRE WANNA BE...... LET'S NOT FORGET THEY WANT TO DISARM THE WORLD ALSO!!!!

Lucas has made no comments on his movie and George Bush. Looks like you are the one biting the hook.

No, I am responding to all the other Star Wars threads. I want to get out there that the U.N. is much more relevant to Evil Empire status.....

The anaolgy doesn't work unless the Emperor was Bib Fortuna. Besides, Vader would look really stupid in a blue helmet, and no light saber.

Revenge of the Republicans (Star Wars head George Lucas confirms this view)

Lucas, responding to a question at a Cannes Film Festival press conference, said he first wrote the framework of Star Wars in 1971 when reacting to then U.S. president Richard Nixon and the on-going events of the Vietnam War. But the story still has relevance today, he said, and is part of a pattern he has noticed in his readings of history.

"I didn't think it was going to get quite this close," he said of the parallels between the Nixon era and the current Bush presidency, which has been sacrificing freedoms in the interests of national security. "It is just one of those re-occurring things.

"I hope this doesn't come true in our country. Maybe the film will awaken people to the situation of how dangerous it is ... The parallels between what we did in Vietnam and what we are doing now in Iraq are unbelievable."

Re: "The United Nations is most likely candidate for the EVIL EMPIRE..."

The fact that the World Socialist (communist) org at http://www.wsws.org endorses United Nations' report confirms the assertion that the UN is the EVIL EMPIRE.

[Excerpt]
US war in Iraq yields a social “tragedy”
By David Walsh
18 May 2005

A new study issued by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) reveals what the Iraqi Minister of Planning Barham Salih describes as “a rather tragic situation of the quality of life in Iraq.” What this minister in the Baghdad puppet regime did not care to say, unsurprisingly, is that this disaster for the Iraqi people is attributable overwhelmingly to the unrelenting assault by US imperialism over the past 15 years and more.

No reference in the above article about the arbitrary destruction and wanton murder of innocents by Iraqi insurgant fanatics who create a lack of "quality of life".

Kofi Annan and the United Nations' reports have no credibility, no objectivity, and are exquisitely self-serving.
