What's "nuclear" about it? Rule 13 has been suspended many times. Usually by Sen. Byrd. Read last month Harvard Public Policy Review.

The Republican Party better take note of the incredible dissatisfaction in their party.
But will they ever take notice?

How many Opi(plural?) is one allowed? Why not just check into republican rehab?
one week later: "Hi my name is Laz and I'm a recovering weak kneed Republican. "
Group Therapy: "Hi Laz!! (one man whispers)... That SOB flamed me on a Libertarian thread once".

I pretty much feel the same way you do - I am a Conservative first, and a Republican second. There have been plenty of times that I've been so mad at the national party I could spit. I have no problem telling the Republican party to go pound sand should the circumstances warrant.

That is why we need a conservative party. I doubt it will ever happen, but if enough Republicans are dissatisfied, it just might.

I'm genuinely surprised and elated at the response I've gotten so far. I expected a bunch of "Don't let the door hit ya where the Good L-rd split ya"... but instead I'm recieving a lot of agreement. Why wouldn't you receive agreement? After all, you wrote this exquisite and brilliant historic creation.

Hey Laz.
I understand your feelings. I vote Republican because there is not a viable opposition that I would vote for. We must stay in the party and change it. It takes time.

I'm with you. I've derived a few simple rules:
1) Never vote for any Democrat for any office. Ever.
2) Vote for Republicans when they seem to be persons of character who uphold conservative or libertarian principles.
3) Vote for honorable third party candidates when the Republican is a RINO or otherwise not viable.
4) If there are no honorable candidates, do not cast a ballot.
5) Give no money to national or state parties, for any reason.
