I was an English instructor at the community college level - freshman and two levels of remedial English....I can do grammar in my sleep...comma splice, run-on, sentence fragment and verb form errors are a piece of cake after you grade 300-400 papers a week for years, and make sense out of some of the most obtuse stuff passing for writing. And say helpful nice things.
Of course grading 300-400 papers a week is one of the reasons I know longer teach English...
Didn't know how burned out I was until I took a sabbatical to take care of my sick mom...
