Vanity: Two Viking Kitties looking for a home! (Vermont/Northern New England)

I'm currently in the process of relocating from Northeastern Vermont to Colorado (leaving a blue state for a red state - woo-hoo!). Very unfortunately, I can't bring all of my pets with me. I've contacted the local shelters, but was told that because neither of them are super young, they would have a great deal of trouble placing them, and since I wouldn't want to have them actually IN the shelter, I'm not willing to go that route. I also tried an on-line classifieds site (petfinder.org), but got some really kooky e-mails, so I took that ad down. I'm hoping FReepers will be more helpful!
About the cats: both are spayed females, completely up to date on their shots. They are both indoor only cats.
Cleo is an older Siamese mix, approaching eleven years old. She was declawed by people who had her before me. She is timid in new situations and with new people, but very, very affectionate once she's comfortable...her favorite bid for attention is a running head butt. ;-) She's my main FReeping companion - stays stationed near the computer. I suspect she may FReep when I'm out of the house, but I have no proof...
Halvah is a five year old Himalayan/Siamese cross. She has a very soft, short coat. Best of both breeds, really! She's very friendly and a little chatty - a testament to her Siamese ancestry. She's not at all shy.
Some pictures
the ones of Halvah in particular aren't great because when she's awake, she rubs against my legs if I try to get near her with the camera. Doesn't sit still! ;-) And when she's asleep, her eyes are closed. Grrr...

Please help me find homes for these two precious kitties - before I leave, I need to see that they are very well provided for! Any suggestions would be welcome...

That last pic is a great one of Halvah... it takes a minute to make sense of it!
I think "Slings and Arrows" has a kitty ping list.
I'll ping my doggie list, because I think many folk are multi-cultural where pets is concerned!
Ping!

Oh man, beautiful cats. I have 2 myself though, so that wouldn't work. If I didn't I swear I'd drive up there and take em! :)
To: RosieCotton
Those are lovely cats. Do they get along with dogs at all?

They've both lived with dogs, so yes. I wouldn't put it past Halvah to swat a dog she didn't want in her face, though!

That's a good question to bring out, by the way! Thank you!

RC..I would if I could...I'd love to , but I can't..and or the benefit of those who have never had a Siamese..they aren't really cats..far more like people..and if you'v enever heard a Siamese howl..you're in for a treat.....
One point..it's not clear from your thread if you want them to go together, or you're willing to separate them....good luck

They get along, but would be OK in separate homes. They aren't super attached to one another, in other words.

I wouldn't put it past Halvah to swat a dog she didn't want in her face, though! Not surprising. Our kitty does that to Gidget all the time. Homer hasn't learned to keep his distance yet, though.

I need to change that soon to reflect my new life. That's rather bittersweet!
