I like feeling wanted, but over the past several months I've noticed I'm getting pinged for things that I don't know (and unfortunately don't really care) about.

The only ping list I remember signing up for is PJ's DUmmie FUnnies.

Most of the other stuff is interesting, and it's nice to be invited into conversations, I'm just wondering if this is a common occurance with FReepers...or am I just odd?

And really most of this stuff didn't start until I started with DUmmie FUnnies... or maybe that's the only time I really started noticing it.

Me too, and I've been dropped from them too! But, mostly it's ok. I think sometimes folks put you on if you contribute a post and they think you are interested in the subject.

Good to know it's not just me though.

Oh, not at all odd! When people see where interests are common, they will share good stuuf with you.

Also, if you ask, you might be invited on several lists, as well.

Remember: it's also polite to request being removed from lists, as well. I've had to deep-six a few, because of the lack of FReep time on deployment. It's as natural as seasons!

Few want me on their gang pings for which I am grateful. I think it is discourteous for a poster to include others on gang pings without permission. Granted, some offer an opt out note on the gang ping. I have exercised that once, with a poster that did about 3 gang pings a day. Too much.
