I'll get a composit Michael Jackson, Scott Peterson-in-cell-interview and Martha Stewart Cell decor analysis, put together for you for just the relief you need.
Hit the OFF button.
Natural Disasters are caused by Global Warming (of course) and thus, all these disasters are Bush's fault. Didn't you see "The Day After Tomorrow?"
I'm not tired of it. It's the worst disaster of my lifetime. And, at least there is breaking news on it every day.
Think of it this way...it's Tsunami or they will go ahead and get started on the Michael Jackson trial (doesn't start till Jan 31).
Bangladesh lost 300,000 people in November 1970 and more than 130,000 in April 1991 from storm flooding. Not that anyone in the US media remembers. Probably because few, if any, of the victims were vacationing French and Germans.
I just had a horrible vision of Care Bears and Skittles. Ack!
I agree, it was funny at first, but now it's just gotten old... or maybe I'm missing the point again...

the woman who cleans the restroom in
the building I work in. I'm going to start
thinking of her as a human being"
Compassion overload happens almost every time something big and tragic happens. Even 9/11 coverage was overdone. Lots of people were killed. Lots more people are pitching in to help. Does that merit 24/7 bleating? Given the way news is manufactured today, yes. That's why we fired the TV four years ago at our house. If I want to learn about something, I can do so via the internet. If I don't, I can tune out. It's a beautiful thing. You should try it. Once you start ignoring the whining class, you may even find you have the time to do something to make a difference.
I don't know how accurate the number is, but I heard today that nearly 3000 Americans are "missing" in the disaster.
They're waiting for some imagined screw-up in the relief effort by our military, and then they'll dogpile Rumsfeld.
Exactly. I certainly think the tsunami should be covered, the relief efforts are appropriate, and the situation should be updated daily. My complaint is to preempting other programming and turning entire newscasts into tsunami - only coverage. We do have a war going on in which we are directly involved. I think my main objection is it should not be 24/7 coverage, plus I believe their motivation is to show the U.S. was "forced" to respond by public pressure.
Or Paris Hilton Paris Hilton Paris Hilton Paris Hilton Paris Hilton Paris Hilton Paris Hilton Paris Hilton
That is a ridiculous assertion.
Give them time. Rush was guaranteed that Abu Grahib will be one of the Articles of Impeachment..
Let's see. Tsunami coverage versus more Scott Peterson-slash-Michael Jackson-slash other idiot trial of the day?
I'll take the tsunami.
Just damn.
If you want on the list, FReepmail me. This IS a high-volume PING list...
Having 'er rambled on, I remember the silly, stupid, 39 deaths of a cult, lead by Appleby. Suicides, thinking they were going up behind the Hale Bopp comet. Pictured every single day- on bunks clad in black. I laughed. Give it seven days I said.(wrong). On and on again and again. Suddenly the whole stupid thing was dropped- absolutely no more. Yep, it will wear itself out. Excessive compassion will not do one damn thing. It never has. Any one want to forecast when excessive news coverage dies?.
The MSM is so interested in disasters, perhaps they should look into the number of little babies we kill in the US. every year by abortion. Of course these little guys don't have anyone to speak for them..
C'mon, don't youn know the truth. If only the evil United States military would stop their illegal pursuit of the noted philanthropist Usama Bin Laden, then he would be able to lead a world wide charity fund drive for the tsumami victims.
And if the illegitimate and unelected Bush administration would free the poor old man with a heart of gold, Saddam Hussein, then the kindly Mr. Hussein would be able to personally oversee the relief efforts.
At least Bill Clinton is involved now. He will save us.
