Sorry, guess that would be Ohio. hehehe. Its a big football weekend. Auburn vs Alabama oughta be a good one. LSU vs Ole Miss is always a fun weekend and the football is pretty good, too. :)

This is a great football weekend everywhere.
It's in Ohio State, so we're having a big party here. One of our revellers is from Alabama. She won't like Auburn being favored.......
Just getting juiced...........

Here's a little enhancement for your continued pleasure in the LIEbrary opening...operation "rain on Bubba's parade." There was a couple of people in the office today who went (one of them works in the office and had tickets because of her involvement in the historical society) and they were saying it was the most miserably cold they could ever remember being. Even with raincoats and umbrellas, they got soaked and their shoes were soaking wet and their feet were freezing. They said that even inside the tent at the reception, it was so cold it was hard to even eat. She said it took an hour to get to the shuttle to take them back to the car.
I like this lady so I didn't want to apopear to be enjoying her obvious suffering (I wasn't), but it was hard to keep from giggling, because I was thinking of all those people there who must have been suffering similarly, and I was enjoying that thought immensely. I had to bite my tongue really hard, although I couldn't resist throwing in that I wouldn't walk across the street to see Bill Clinton. I did manage to keep myself from saying that only an idiot would spend hours sitting in the pouring rain to honor a scumbag like Clinton if they didn't have to.

I've always been a Bama fan but Auburn is playing beautiful football this season. One of my nephews goes to Ole Miss and so he and his roommate will be in town this weekend. Both of them are still grieving over Eli graduating. LOL

Pup is still in mourning for the thrashing his team received from Auburn.
I'm thinking they are one of the top two teams right now.
I don't think Michigan could play well against them this year.

Yes, it looks like AU might be heading to a championship but ya never know, their rivalry with Alabama is so strong that anything can happen. Ask Quilla, she is a lifelong Bama fn even though her father was a Dean at Auburn.

One of my Dad's best friends used to be President of Ohio State.
He had to fire Woody Hayes........kind of similar to if you had to fire Bear Bryant.
I think you're right........on paper, Auburn is a much better team this year, much like Michigan is v Ohio State.....but in these games anything can happen.

It was worse....I actually watched the thing, sort of by mistake.
It was in a bowl game, not a first tier bowl, but a pretty decent one. I forget the opponent, maybe Pup would know, but at the end of this game it was very close and Ohio was driving to win the game, and one of the linebackers from the other team intercepted a pass and started to run it back along the sideline.
Well, poor Woody, temper and all, stepped off the side line, tackled the guy and started pummelling him. To this day, I can't believe he did that.
You know how everyone does things they regret? WEll......let's just say my regrets don't come close to that....LOL.

He'll probabaly do well, but I don't see him doing as well as he did at Floriduh.....

I guess we'll see soon enough. He did receive his comeuppance as a coach in the NFL and I hope it taught him a little humility.... he was sorely lacking in that character trait.

a purple state....
I live in a purple state........
Our football team is blue.......and but for Detroit, the State would be red.
Our map is one blue spot centered in Detroit surrounded by a vast sea of red for the rest of the state.

Down here President Bush had a double digit led in every poll for months but still this state is tricky (i.e., politically corrupt, its the Huey Long legacy) so we decided to work like we were behind by double digits. Our efforts not only gave the state to President Bush but we elected the first Republican U.S. Senator ever from Louisiana. David Vitter replaces the retiring John Breaux. With that victory we only have 2 non-Republican U.S. Senators in the entire south. Mary Landrieu from Louisiana and Bill Nelson from Florida. Hopefully, we can knock them off next time around.
