I downloaded some machine gun video clips. My OS is windows XP for home and I use Windows Media Player. I thought since I viewed them on the Windows Media Player that I would be able to view them again.
Only now I can't find them. I know they're in my computer somewhere. Any suggestions?
Your computer is a ANT-GUN LIBERAL! Disable it before it infects others with this virus!
did you play them from a site on the internet?
First, open windows media player and look under "File" or "Play" - the most recent files you've played might still be listed there.
Plan B: Open windows media player and look in the "Media library".
Plan C: Go to start/ search / For files or folders. You can click on "advanced" and only search for windows media files. If they're on your computer you should be able to find them that way.
Yes. One was from Free Republic in 2001 with an Apache helo taking out an enemy.
I tried each plan. It's not showing any of them.
Uh-oh, you're screwed...
Lou, sorry, I gave you the wrong page if you're going to search for the clips on the net. The previous page was for images. Here's the one for videos:
http://www.altavista.com/video/default
If you installed another viewer/player, it might have set file associations, which if anything changes the appearance of the file's icon.
Check out the uber-cool slow motion videos at this site:

http://www.kurzzeit.com/videos.htm
www.subguns.com usually has some listed somewhere on that site.
The clips will be empty anyway.
Did you remember the headspace gauge and the timing tool?
Thanx for the link. I viewed the vids.
Let me make sure I understand how this works. I download a video. The video is stored someplace on my computer in my Windows Media files. Yet I can't find them when I open the Windows Media Player. Curious.
Make sure you RIGHT CLIK, and TELL your Browser WHERE To save the file!
Pick something EASY like "My Documents" or C:\
You can use FILE SEARCH to find them too...

PS--Just VIEWING the file DOES NOT SAVE IT TO YOUR MACHINE!!!

Lou, I thought of one more last ditch way that you might be able to retrieve your clips.
Go to Start / Documents
The most recent files that you've opened (perhaps even your clips) will be listed there.
