I think the lesson is loud and clear: stay out of Barnes & Nobles. I have noticed the SAME thing more than once in West LA so it doesn't seem to be a fluke. The nuts at Barnes & Nobles DON'T LIKE PRESIDENT BUSH. By the way, the people who work there are full grown adults who seem to be living examples of what went wrong with the LIBERAL PUBLIC SCHOOL EDUCATION. Just try asking them to look up a book on their computer. If it requires more than four letters to spell, plan on being told they don't have the book, even if they do.

One way to look at this:

Unfit For Command is not there because all the copies have been sold.

The Bush Bashing books are all there because nobody ever bought the copies that are in stock.

Although I love my alma mater, the University of Southern California, I stopped donating to the University several years ago when they put Robert Scheer on staff at the School of Journalism.

Every time I get a call from the University to make a donation, I make it known to the caller that having this communist on their faculty precludes any donation from me. I'll continue my donations once he's gone, and not a moment sooner.

I suggest a proactive boycott. Take a book to the counter , ask to see the manager. When he/she appears tell him/her you want to buy the book in hand and also "Unfit..." If it is not produced pronto, hand him/her the book and tell him/her you buy both from Amazon.

Second preference -- go drink the Starbucks and read but don't buy.

Saturday, I went to a local Borders, half expecting not to find "Unfit..." I searched the store and was ready to ask the Customer Service rep. for the books whereabouts, and then I saw their sign:

"Unfit for Command is our currently our top selling non-fiction title. We sell out quickly. Please reserve your copy today. Shipments arrive on Monday."

I was pleased, and glad that I could still shop at Borders. Where else would I buy my copies of "Backwoods Home" and "Hobby Farms?"

Unfortunately, the same is shockingly true for several Houston, Texas area B&N bookstores. The shelves and displays are well stocked with every anti-bush book imaginable. After seeing an employee whom I know I asked him to look up how many copies they had on hand. 15. They were nowhere to be found. I have worked in several bookstores and I do understand how easy it can be sometimes to have product get lost on the shelves. Usually that is one or two copies. Not several, not many, not fifteen.

What is unsettling for me is that it is not just one isolated store. We checked two in Houston and friend in Dallas checked there as well. Thats how I came to find this site.
