This isn't the first time Davis has participated in a Moon event. Back in 2002, Davis attended a three-day Moon-sponsored "God and World Peace" conference along with several other dignitaries. He's also listed as a co-chairman of one of Moon's organizations, and he gave a speech on the House floor praising Moon.

Davis, reached last week at his Washington, D.C., office, distanced himself from Moon's declaration that he was the new messiah. "There are things that ministers sometimes will say and characterize, but I'm not necessarily in agreement with everything that they said," Davis explained.

It's one thing to quibble over biblical interpretations. Isn't it another to ignore it when a guy announces that he has converted Hitler and Stalin and then declares himself to be the "returning lord" right before you bring him a crown?

Sounds like the Moonies also padded their list of honorees to include people who weren't actually there. I'm sure some wish they weren't but Davis and Weldon are the ones caught on tape along with Bartlett and Dayton.

Yes, I have read the Times. I don't believe he writes the stories---or even edits them. But, that said, I didn't know that he owned the paper, and I honestly don't believe that I will ever buy it again!

Yeah, from what I have been reading, they tend to include folks who only attended "spiritually"! LOL.

Still, I believe this to be a disgusting event, and wanted to give the story some publicity, so that the electorate would be aware of what their elected officials are up to.
I guess the administrators did not agree with me since they buried it under "ufo" in chat; while that very important headline news story of the possibility that chelsea clinton may have had plastic surgery---is left on the news/activism thread! ---I don't get it......

I never question the wisdom of the mods. I think part of it is that this story is still at the blog/WND level and nobody seems to have the straight skinny.

Hey! Britt Hume finally did a story on this during his news show, "Special Report"! They showed the video and questioned the participants.

I am trying to find a link on their website, when I do, you will get it. But, watch the "special Report" the story appears during the first 15 minutes.

BTW, Bartlett went on camera to say that he comes from a family of ministers and he had no idea that this was going to go on! He said that it went "way too far". He said that he just thought he was attending a peace conference and that Moon was going to recieve an award. Fox showed a clip of Bartlett praising Moon, though....
