The responses are stupid! It assumes that the President made a mistake in claiming there were WMD in Iraq. How about a third option like "Who cares? That murdering despot is out of power and his people are free!" ?

so did we make a mistake in terms of the intel? This is a tricky question? Maybe there was bad intel,,so does that make things a mistake or not...maybe it would be good to say yeah, we had bad intel but a good outcome. I don't know. What do others think/

That is EXACTLY what Cliff May told O'Reilly.
Bill responded by telling Cliff that those were "right wing talking points"

They are attempting a trick question. But I believe the answer to the poll question is no.
The Bush Administration itself made no mistakes.

To: Sister_T
For some reason, this issue has really bugged O'Reilly since the start of the invasion. He mentions it every time the Iraq war is brought up.
I voted "No", of course, since I believe Pres. Bush acted on the best information he had. And I suspect that 99 out of 100 Americans would reply "Who cares?"

I saw that too---I used to be an O'Reilly fan but, IMHO, he has reacted to charges of conservatism by leftwingers by going overboard in attacking the president. He thinks this gives him legitimacy. Too bad----now he's nothing more than a blowhard.

While suffering from website overload and looking for the poll, I noted that O'Reilly has Senator John Edwards on tonight.
Anytime you can miss both Edwards and O'Reilly is quality time.

LOL! After the interview O'Reilly remarked about how much he respected John "the trial lawyer" Edwards.

Poll, schmoll.
It is not seriously disputed that had Saddam attained his goal of acquiring nuclear weapons he would have used them. That, in and of itself, may not, in the minds of some, constitute justification for the invasion into his land, but as the author of more than a million deaths in two wars already, not to mention the deaths of thousands of his own people by poison gas, his taste for mass murder could not be doubted.
Morover, there was ample reason to believe that he had stockpiles of chemical and biological weapons, not least being the considerable quantities of these that were known to exist but were, at the start of the war, unaccounted for. So the argument over whether there was sufficient justification for military action to depose him, or the moral basis for it, boiled down to this: Whether it was better to act to neutralize the threat he posed before it came to fruition, or wait until he actually possessed such weapons before responding.
Bush made the right move.

O'Reilly can respect Edwards all he wants. The Breck Girl couldn't be elected dog catcher in North Carolina.
To: DeFault User
I think its disrespectful to Southern voters to bring up how he talks in every stump speech.
I've heard him say these exact words with a southern drawl "I can beat George Bush because I talk like this."
Somebody should slap Edwards and tell him not all southerners "talk like that"

You are delusional if you think 99 out of 100 would reply with "who cares". I have to tangle with 4 people around me at work and 2 are Bush supporters. Face the facts, Bush isnt winning the war of people minds on what the intention was behind the war.
It wasnt "THERE IS HUGE STOCKPILES", it was "SADDAM HASNT TOLD US WHAT HAPPENED TO THE STOCKPILES, WHY NOT?". Bush cant seem to get that across to at least 55% of the population.

...poll assumes Bush made a mistake.....
I thought the exact same thing when I heard O'Reilly talk about the poll. And, I will email him about this.
How about David Kay saying they were working on ricin right up 'til the war began. RICIN ! Last I heard this could kill quite a few people. Sometimes O'Reilly bugs me. I like John Gibson and Neil Cavuto. They wear their patriotism on their sleeve and they're not ashamed to do so. They don't cave to try to be 'politically correct'.
To: 4integrity
When Cliff May mentioned Ricin tonight...O'Reilly acted like that wasn't any big deal.

O'Reilly said tonight that the fact that Saddam was dangerous is a "right wing talking point"Well, tonight I saw a portion of the David Kay interview with Tom Brokaw. MSNBC showed a bit of it earlier.
In it Kay repeats something I've been highlighting that he said in the NPR interview: That what they found in Baghdad indicates Iraq was MORE of a threat than we thought before the war. The point about WMDs is obfuscating this bombshell.
Tonight he elaborated that (as I surmised) the findings have to do with terrorist organizations. Also their missile program most definitely was buzzing right along, quite active.
**I am not participating in this poll as the question and results are misleading and I don't see the point.
To: ConservativeMan55
I wish I had seen Cliff May...I don't watch O'Reilly anymore...haven't for months.
To: cajungirl
Just this past week some of hitler's chemical weapons were found by a fisherman who was burned with mustard gas when he opened the container.
Six months after we have captured Baghdad and already the whiners are throwing in the towel.

Remember our discussion this morning about that Kay comment about Iraq potentially being actually more of a threat than we thought before the war?
See my post #43 about Kay elaborating a bit more to Brokaw. I did not see the whole interview and hope there's a thread out there discussing, but seeing your name thought I'd give you a heads up.
