It would seem reasonable that something like this thread would be a nice alternative to the Jacko-sicko threads we're inundated with (not that you're completely innocent on that count, mind you, but since yours was the very first thread you get special dispensation. For now).

Why this can't be up for all to see until the program has run strikes me as pretty lame.

What happens is that it goes to chat, and then someone comes along and realizes there's no current thread on a (momentary, short-lived) pop culture event, and we get another thread and a split audience, and repetition and stupidness. I give up.

Consinging something of current general interest to chat seems heavy handed to me, to say the least. I have yet to figure out what the criteria for the black hole of chat is, since the rules have never been revealed. But I think it's generally either a WOD thread, or anything that doesn't follow the agenda of the mod with their finger on the button at that particular moment in time.

And my allergies are really bothering me and I'm in a pissy mood. How's that?

Please, I have had too many requests for this event and people are looking forward to it. It would be nice if we could have a diversion from the duplicate pedophile flame threads.

Why people have a bug in their bras about General Interest as a category for non-political threads is beyond me. It isn't a dead zone if people would use it as it was intended. I do.
