I remember one client who was in Italy during Mussolini who didn’t trust banks and hid all her money in cash in her mattress. One of my grandmothers hid it in her bra as she was fleeing the bombs in WW2 with two small children.

Having worked in a bank many years ago, yes, banks don’t like large cash withdrawals.
Not for some nefarious reason but because they only hold enough cash in each branch to handle the usual traffic. Too much cash on hand is costly, and risky.
Not every branch could handle multiple large cash withdrawals.
Might want to consider trickling it out now while you can... You can always go put a bit back here and there if you need it to cover digital payments. But keeping the bulk in cash at home is wisdom I cannot stress enough considering our current economical fragility.

If you are just listening to the short twitter clip it sounds like the father was talking about Wade. If you watched the entire trial today, which I did, she had a boyfriend prior to Wade.
The clip, out of context, is misleading.
Are you saying that businesses refuse to accept your credit cards with valid ID because you are native American?
Growing up I had relatives that stashed their earnings under their mattresses. I definitely have it on hand because I believe in being prepared for emergency situations like evacuations or ATMs failing. And yes of course a female was lectured on having money in her purse when dating in case she needed to ditch her companion and return home by herself . Those were lessons I learned growing up in a Black household but I just thought they were universal pearls of wisdom?

It was the only reason I could figure out from the situation. But... Although it was not my tribe, the town was right next to an Indian reservation. So I am sure they did have issues with bad cards and bad checks from the locals. But the stereotyping was upsetting.

I would think so too. Everyone carried cash and stashed cash as the norm. Especially back when almost all business gave discounts for cash.

It’s just my (and others’) opinion, of course...but from observing his answers and his body language, he was lying about not knowing anything about Wade until ‘just recently’. On one hand, father and daughter are “so close”... that she always keeps massive amounts of cash on hand like dear old dad advised her to. Her former DJ BF was never a secretive thing, yet ... for “some” reason... she felt the need, apparently, to keep dating Wade a secret from dad? Yeah. Riiiight!
And even if that point (keeping Wade a secret from dad) was true, why would she feel the need to keep that secret? That right there would show that she was quite aware that she was doing something shady by dating the guy she tasked with going after Trump. Either way, it’s an indictment of Fani’s dishonesty.
My opinion of her dad...he is just too cute by half, and smooth...but not as smooth as he ‘thinks’ he is. He feigned confusion when questioned by the defense attorneys... when he knows exactly what he is lying about and why he is lying. Floyd isn’t stupid... he’s just loyal to a fault to his ‘chip off the old liar’ daughter.
I’m with VivaFrei on this issue. Her dad is a liar, among other things (ex-Black Panther, anti-whitey black nationalist, dated commie Angela Davis, etc.). So Fani comes by the lying “naturally”, apparently. It runs in the family.
