“While you were sleeping”

a simple snark .... but with so much meaning...
deeper than it appears on first glance ....

That is exactly right. substations attacked. And while we WAIT (Q-tards like to say STAY COMFY) for the cavalry, they poison every aquifer in the country with fentanyl. We let them do this waiting for The Stable Genius to return.

Twenty or thirty Chinese males of that age would stand out in Idaho. Are they disguised as students? There would only be two or three places to check for that possibility.

They wouldn't stand out much if they had a training encampment out in Idaho's vast desert wilderness where they were busy learning how to kill you.

There has been a steady stream of illegal Chinese for decades. There are long established scam operations to obtain student visas, medical visas, you name it. At one time they would come over packed in shipping containers.

I dont see this Mexican route as any different. Just taking advantage of an opportunity,

If they were coming to kill you they would have learned how in China. Moreover they would have state support to get a student or investor visa.

We already know they sneak agents over that way, or blackmail legit students, etc.

You are obsessing excessively over this aspect of the border problem. The Chinese agent network has been in the US for decades. They don’t need to sneak them through that way, they have lots of money, and can do it by much more “sanitized” methods.

No need for tents. They have condos. They have the deep pockets of a superpower.

Note that Al Qaeda didnt use tents and stuff either. They too had money. They had a network of safehouses. The bearded guerillas in the hills trope isnt how this works, here.

PG&E Metcalfe substation attack, 2013.

Lets just say that I was briefed on this, by “agencies”, being in a related industry. And there have been fixes and mitigations deployed across the country.

One point repeatedly stressed is that such anti-infrastructure attacks can take all sorts of forms, and the next ones will certainly be against very different targets, with very different methods.

And we did NOTHING to stop it.

“Attacking the infrastructure...”

Along that line is attacking our economy. In the Seattle area LOTS of homes are being bought by Chinese people. Expensive homes. Many of the older homes are bought and then just sit empty and rot. Either waiting for the market to improve (and build new) or is it just to purchase property in America?

All I know is that they have driven up the prices and they are out-of-reach for most folks that live and grew up in the area.

Nobody was expecting such aggression as Metcalfe. The purpose of this well planned, sophisticated attack has not yet been disclosed. It involved considerable research not just into energy infrastructure, but telecoms and the workings of police and security agencies.

State supported for sure. The question really is not how, but why, and the answer is certainly in the give and take of international issues not apparent to us, as we arent in the loop. We are the audience watching a play taking place behind the curtain. We sometimes hear a few words, or a scuffle behind the drapes, and sometimes someone will come out and say something we arent in a position to understand.

If you want to stop this, in this socio-legal-economic environment, think about HOW. Its not an easy problem.

It is money laundering. Its way easier to arrange straw purchases of real estate than equities, etc.

Vast amounts of money have been leaving China for decades. A lot of Chinese want a foreign nest egg their government cant find.

A common corollary is Chinese getting their kids out of China.

This has been going on all over the world.

I suppose. I just wonder how many Chinese millionaires there are that can pay with suitcases of cash (as per my real estate agent) for a $2 million house. Although I guess with a population of 1.2 billion people, 10 million of them could be millionaires.

(Heh - just looked it up. About 6 million Chinese millionaires!)

In your link it spoke about “culture”. I was just talking to a grade school teacher. “Yeah - so we have all of these other cultures doing stuff - we just had a Lunar New Year event with a dragon and parade and songs. But a Christmas event? Forget it.”
