Пресс-секретаря президента также попросили прокомментировать слова Карлсона о том, что за последнее время ни один западный журналист не удосужился взять интервью у Путина, и спросили правда ли, что в Кремле не получали ни одного запроса на встречу с российским руководителем от западных СМИ за прошедшие два года.
“Нет, господин Карлсон не прав. Собственно, он этого и не может знать. Мы получаем много заявок на интервью с президентом, но, в основном, когда это касается стран коллективного Запада, речь идет о крупных сетевых СМИ: традиционных телеканалах, больших газетах, которые никак не могут похвастаться попытками хотя бы выглядеть беспристрастно в плане освещения происходящего”, - сказал Песков.
По словам пресс-секретаря президента, “все это СМИ, которые занимают однобокую позицию”.
“As it (interview - IF) is prepared, as it comes out, then you will have the opportunity to make your own impressions,” said the Kremlin representative.
At the request of journalists, Peskov explained why the head of the Russian state decided to give an interview to Carlson.
“He has a position that is different from the rest (Western media - IF). It is in no way pro-Russian, not pro-Ukrainian, it is rather pro-American, but at least it is contrastingly different from the position of the traditional Anglo-Saxon media,” the Kremlin representative explained.
The president’s spokesman was also asked to comment on Carlson’s words that no Western journalist had recently bothered to interview Putin, and asked if it was true that the Kremlin had not received a single request to meet with the Russian leader from the Western media over the past two years.
“No, Mr. Carlson is wrong. Actually, he can’t know that. We receive a lot of applications for interviews with the president, but mainly when it comes to the countries of the collective West, we are talking about large network media: traditional TV channels, big newspapers that cannot boast of attempts to at least look impartial in terms of coverage of what is happening,” Peskov said.
According to the presidential spokesman, “all these are the media that take a one-sided position.”

I can’t think of a single reason Putin would think a request to have an interview with an American Presstitute that is incapable of telling the truth, is a “real offer”, I call BS on this, they are just pissed because they have no credibility and it is now front and center in their face.

So, it’s a figure of speech to hype up is interview. No western journalist I know of has gotten a speech with Putin since the war started. They put in requests, maybe. But they didn’t get the interview. Either because of logistics, or lack of effort, or mistrust by the Kremlin or whatever. A journalist tries hard to get the story; and takes whatever info the government issues with a grain of salt high enough to raise your blood pressure.
I wonder if any of them did get an interview, would they get the threats of blackball and be called propagandists etc? Or does that depend on which outlet they work for and how they edit the tape?
