A superior military leadership program demands the best of the best.
Academic training diversity, based on demographics alone, is an unattainable goal and a fool’s errand. Nothing beats merit, no matter where it is found. But to select randomly, in the hope or wish that the selected candidate will somehow rise to the occasion because the demands are thrust upon him or her, is betting on massive failure.
On the job is no place to winnow out the highly incompetent in a military organization, or even the marginal applicant. The best of the best is an absolute essential in a high-pressure position. And few things are more high-pressure than armed combat.
Don’t you need to have an appointment by someone in government (Representative, Senator, POTUS, VPOTUS, foreign president) to get into a military academy?

I would put Trumps first pick as a moderate conservative. The other two are liberals. With ACB being pretty much as bad as the Obama judges.
Racism is legal and possibly mandatory if it discriminates against whites and sometimes Asians.
No, Gorsuch is actually the most to the left. He served alongside Anthony Kennedy for about a year, and he was significantly to the left of even Kennedy. Gorsuch and Kavanaugh were both clerks for Kennedy. ACB - it’s too early to tell, but she actually clerked for Scalia. She probably won’t be a Scalia, but at least a little to the right of the other two.

Gorsuch and Kavanaugh aren’t “as bad as Obama judges” as you put it. but they will be a little worse than their mentor Kennedy.

Not a chance they are worse than Kennedy. Where did this idea that the Trump judges are disappointing come from?
Kennedy voted to reaffirm Roe, ruled to uphold affirmative action in Fisher II, was the author of several cases that restricted the death penalty, and the list goes on. On those major issues alone, the Trump judges have already shown themselves to be much better than Kennedy.
So you prefer Kennedy to Scalia?
Gorsuch served with Kennedy for a year, and he was significantly to the left of Kennedy.
Like with Illinois’ anti-2A law, they’re waiting for it to finish its wind in the lower courts before taking it up.
Their docket is already crammed to the gills with cases, and a lower court just might handle it properly. It’s not as if they declined to hear the case EVER.
Why would any young White person be willing to go to West Point these days anyway? Seriously.
