I think this speaks more just how screwed up our politics are and the consequent effect on our military.
A small minority of our population directs the entire population eg, Blacks, flat Earthers, LGBQwertyuiop, et al
can and do trip an election. Elections do matter, so the elected people purge our military of patriots and replace them with “their people”. Thus idiotic stuff like this.
