Patsy Levang and Cheryl Tuck-Smith were alumna members of Kappa Kappa Gamma, but their membership has not been revoked after they advocated for the sisterhood to remain exactly that. The two women have been involved with the sorority for over 50 years. They were informed of their dismissal by the Standards Director.
Life’s complicated in the diverse, inclusive, intersectional, media-saturated society.
A solution to this particular problem might be to have groups with no formal name or affiliation — just like-minded people who want to enjoy each other’s company. No written rules.

When I was an undergrad at Pitt, the Kappas were the hottest sorority, followed shortly by the Thetas.
I even dated a Kappa once. Be assured, at that time it was a real “she.”
All I can say or think now is “Dear God.”
