There’s a passage in the Gulag Archipelago in which the local Bolshevik revolutionaries were described as to be made up of “the village lazy bones”.
I worked with a lady who came to the US from Russia back in the 80’s. Took her family about 10 years of applying, interviews etc. before they were allowed to go. At security on their flight out, they took a family album because it had pics of her husband in his military uniform and her grandmother’s weeding ring stating it belonged to the state. Asker her if she could have appealed & she said it would be starting all over with the process & who’s to say security wouldn’t take it again.
Watching Dr. Zhivago should be required in every high school.

However, at that age I’m afraid at that age they would only concentrate on the love story part.
