Why is it that, if his campaign falters for 2024, that means he has no shot in 2028? History tells us, that many presidential nominees do not get the nomination the first time they run in primaries. This is even true of a man almost all Freepers admire, Ronald Reagan. Who knows what the political landscape will look like four years from now. It seems premature to me, to say DeSantis can not run in 2028 because of what’s going on with his campaign now.

This is not the usual case. There is a civil war for the soul of the Republican party. Its not just that DeSantis showed himself to be a lousy campaigner. It is also that he showed himself to be the tool of the Donor Class/RINOs. He is in bed with them. He adopts their positions be it tariffs on China which he opposes or walking back his opposition to US involvement in Ukraine. Notice also how he won't go after the Deep State.

Its not just disloyalty to Trump or to the voters in Florida he promised in 2022 he would not run for President in 2024, it is also that he he showed he's in the RINO camp. That is going to make him persona non grata in the MAGA camp which represents by far the lion's share of the voters on the Right. That's why DeSantis is toast.
