Think about what this means, what impact this has on how the public thinks of the news industry, how people respond to the changes in the news, and there are good and bad ways people respond to changing times. Some adapt, others become disillusioned and opportunistic.

Go to their YouTube homepage and start looking around. Click on https://www.youtube.com/@eylnews/videos. Press the page down key a dozen times to show all the vidoes the site currently has. Why does a news channel have Turkish hand made crochet arts and craft videos? If this is a news site, why is it that it only reported the news starting a month ago on March 14, when the last video before that was December 21, 2021? Take a look at the background logo at the top of the page. Where it says "/eylnewshd" for twitter and Facebook. There are no twitter or Facebook pages for EYL news. The background picture says there is a website "eylnews.com". whois.domaintools.com and archive.org show the site has been registered, it has never been used. Try going to eylnews.com. There is not even a parking page for it.

So what does this mean? EYL News is not "fake news", its more like "spam news". Here's how this type of YouTube channel works.

• Take a YouTube channel and make it look like a news channel.
• Take other site's content.
• Use a natural sounding text to speech program, read other site's content.
• Any original content paraphrases what other news has previously reported, phrased to feed a target audience's biases.
• Play in background military themed video clips.
• Use a thumbnail that would work for checkout stand tabloids that report Elvis sightings.

Now back to that first link. In 1983, 90% of the media, meaning the mass media of newspaper, magazines, TV and radio were owned by 50 companies. By 2011, that number had dropped to 6 companies. In the US and Europe there are only a dozen primary news sources. This has lead to the rise of alternative news, blogger, then WordPress, then Substack, and independent operating sites. Its also lead to a lot of sites that create more noise than signal. Instead of going to a MSM and figuring out the truth amid their biases, people who distrust the news go to a alternative new sites, to read a article about a twitter post of a clip from someone complaining about what CNN. The news does a much poorer job of reporting than it did 20 to 30 years ago, and the public has a much harder time being informed.

Actually, in error I have posted articles from sources that violate copyright, i.e. Foxnews.

I personally am thankful the moderator audits these illegal posts as well as removes any inappropriate comments... often before I have seen. Again, I thank the mod.

There are videos battle scenes, for example the the beheading videos or drone bombing Russian troops.

No doubt. In private posts she's told me she's a critical care nurse. Me, I'm just a humble emergency room porter for a community hospital on The Jersey Shore. I clean up whats left of people who've been in all sorts of medical distress. I love the job but it can get to you, it can get to anyone after a while. Two weeks ago I saw a six month old infant die from meningitis. That was a real kick in the emotional gut. I told this woman in a fit of pique "You're a nurse, dedicated to saving lives and yet you're calling for the continued slaughter in a war between two thug regimes. I said "Lady you need to take a good look in the mirror!''.
