Yes, I do.

For instance, I know the vast problems of US medical services delivery, which is absurdly inefficient and incredibly expensive in the US. And, moreover, with a few exceptions, of poorer quality than in most EU countries. This is mathematically provable. That is a large part of the US economy that is absurdly inefficient.

And none of that has anything to do with how it is paid for. The US system is almost entirely paid for with a combination of state spending and government mandates, just like most of Europe.

The US simply sucks at this, and it is because of systemic social-cultural issues. All of these systemic issues you will concede in any other context.

And I know that US public K-12 education is also vastly inefficient, based on wrong-headed ideas of “equity”, which actually go back decades. You consistently fail to develop talent, preferring to satisfy progressive politics. Even Euro socialist states aren’t that stupid.

And then there are US universities ... what can I say? You cannot defend the tip-top of your intellectual class. It is corrupt and decadent, putting it kindly.

And then there is the massive Gordians knot of regulation, politics and legal constraints that make it nearly impossible to deliver large engineering projects. This is vastly less of a problem in most of Europe. This is truly disastrous in the US. That alone will be the death of you.

Been there, done that. But I, unlike most of you, can compare, so I know, much better than you do, the ways in which you fail, the problems you MUST fix.

Your display of arrogance, coupled with a contempt for certain elements of American society that MUST be changed to your liking, is breathtaking. Only a Brit would have gall to lecture an American in our home. The internet is a godsend for people like you as you'd never talk down to US, face-to-face. I'm so glad we got to chat. Hopefully others can see the person I knew was behind your displays of internationalism.

Huh. I am and have been accustomed to be an “expert”, because that’s what I was. And am. I have, in fact, regularly lectured, engineers and technicians - face to face. If you are unable to hear a lecture, then you cannot be educated and cannot learn.

Some people have personal issues that prevent them from being taught. They are prone to reject the (temporary) power imbalance of the teacher-student relationship. This is a defect. I am glad to say that in my experience people who have aspired to be technicians/engineers are highly unlikely to suffer from this, because whenever they got to me they had already been taught a great deal.

Most people with a glimmer of talent get over this neurotic rejectionism after puberty, but of course some persist.

I’m not a Brit.

Go find an Asian forum to haunt, that is if they allow frank discussion in that s'hole of a nation you hail from.
