Combustion of vinyl chloride monomer will produce 3-6% by weight of soot/unburned carbon.
This is likely a soot cloud blowing in from the derailment site.
I guess Covid, and the “vaccines” are not working fast enough. So, time to introduce the next weapon of mass destruction against the people.

I’m certain that whatever government agency oversees these kinds of events will give us instructions on how to cope with it and a truthful explanation of what has happened.

How I understand it: The videos from a residence showed sparks from a wheel as it rolled by, just before the derailment. If that’s the cause, then that’s on Norfolk Southern. It could’ve just ended there and the results wouldn’t be so drastic. Shut down. Clean up. Be done with it.
But the burn was ordered which exacerbated (or, as Kamala would say, “exasperated”) the problem. Nobody is copping to giving that order.
Maybe Hunter Biden was flying over and forgot to close the window?

How much credibility does the government have that we should take ANYTHING we are told at face value?

That diverse investigative committee will be assembled and will come out with their conclusions in 2040. With redactions.
In the photos, this stuff looks snow white. Most dust is not white, and most (though not all) combustion products are not white. GET IT ANALYZED.
I experience dust from N Mexico and W Texas in Spring cold fronts when land is being plowed or disked for planting corn and cotton.
We can have tan skies from the dust and slightly muddy rains.
Note it is not the time of year to prep fields for planting.
Looks like ash fallout from a burn.
The ash fallout is similar to when the steel mill in Midlothian (Texas y’all) burns the crushed cars they recycle.
We had a whole day of 50-80 mile per hour winds here recently.
More chemical warfare?
There has still been no chemical analysis. It's "dust." That's all the public needs to know.
