I’m talking about getting Americans to work out in the elements.
Pay more???
It’s not like a business is made of money. Most profit margins are very tiny. Our local hardware owner makes his living off his store’s profit. Given his house, his car, etc. he’s just making a middle class living. If he even doubles his workers’ wages, that’s his income he’s giving away. He’ll not pay his mortgage or his car payment.
I guess his employees can take up a collection.
Yes pay more. It’s not a difficult concept and is very American. If you can’t find employees for what you’re paying, pay more. It’s a great incentive for people to work. Pay lousy wages? Expect few applicants and lousy productivity.
Nope. He’ll have to increase prices. Walmart won’t until he’s out of business, so he’ll fire the workers and run it himself with his wife.
Now the workers make nothing, and you pay their welfare.

They’ll increase prices? Where have you been for the past 15+ months?

Or you can just cry and complain.
Or you can hire people with a strong worth ethic that may not have all their paperwork in order who are willing to work hard just for the opportunity to earn whatever money they can with the skills they have.
Pay lousy wages and expect good work ethics?
Good luck.
Sod off, Swampy, as the old saying goes.
