I remember 1978. The Shah of Iran was a close ally of the US. Had been for decades. He helped stabilize the region. But, do-gooders were concerned about his secret police and their use of torture against Muslim extremists. So Jimmy Carter turned his back on the Shah. Khomeini swept in with the 1979 Iranian Revolution, took our embassy, held US citizens as hostages and transformed Iran into a terror state.
The torture didn’t stop. But US Liberals felt very proud of themselves.

Seems like propaganda to me. The reason I say this is there is no attempt to state what the Russians hoped to gain from the so-called torture. Unspoken is that the Russians tortured just because they are bad guys—evil people just like Putin is.

The Associated Press sent reporters to the city and spoke with residents who identified 10 locations which had been used by Russians to torture both Ukrainian military personnel and civilians.AP fact checkers, oh my!
