This is false, by the way. It inserts a qualifier (true Christians) which Paul does not, in I Cor 6. In fact, in dealing with this PAUL ASSUMES IN THE NEXT VERSES that some of the professing Christians in the church are deceived and not true believers (look it up. It will be good for ya). It is quite possible that the "leaders" here are unregenerate..., although how in the world such people can amass power over Christians like this can ONLY be attributed to the congregation being utterly biblically ignorant themselves. Again. my counsel would be to just walk away and find a congregation where the bible is taught, simply, systematically, thoroughly and loyally. We have enough flashbang sparkler yowling/yelling "preachers" to send 3/4 of America straight to hell... and we may wind up seeing it happen.

I have looked it up — while in my four years of Seminary.
I have observed it first-hand in the churches my dad pastored from the ‘40s to the ‘90s.
I agree with you, i.e., that walking away is the best choice. Sadly, it’s very difficult to find a good traditional, fundamental church, even here in the Buckle of the Bible Belt — Tennessee. We have walked away from several as soon as the ugly head of apostasy reared its ugly head.
What denomination is this church?
Baptist.
Okay, if part of the Southern Baptist Conference, they should be able to appeal for help from the SBC. If another Baptist denomination, then appeal to one of them:

If unaffiliated with any Baptist denomination and has no oversight whatsoever, then I’m sorry but it was foolish to donate to such a church.
