His receipt was for a gun-related item and it didn’t say specifically what it was

Yeah like the 4473 hasn’t done this for decades.

The CC companies only know the amount and location.

They also track "Categories". For example:

Merchandise & Supplies

Business Services

Travel

Restaurant

Transportation

Other

Communications

Entertainment

Fees & Adjustments

I get an annual report listing the dollar amounts and percentages for each category.

It is possible that each company that uses CCs is assigned a category and that is how the data is collected.

My guess is that guns, ammo, and related items currently fall under Merchandise & Supplies. Once ISO establishes a separate category for guns and gun related items, then my annual report will show that as a separate category. If so, I will purchase using cash in the future.

Trust me, folks ... it’s entirely possible to live without a mobile phone on your person.

Realize that other devices like smart watches and fitness trackers can have lat/lon/timestamp information logged and uploaded to your phone then online account even if the phone isn't in your immediate possession. Ditto for an AirTag on your person.

Agree 100%.

I recommend having as few such devices as possible. Not sure if automobile keys are spying on me ...

And for that matter, if your car has "on star" or something similar, it's spying on you too.

Sure, keep telling yourself that.

“His receipt was for a gun-related item and it didn’t say specifically what it was”

Hmm. If a non-specific receipt is ok now, big brother will try to change that.

Gun purchase tracking now ... what will be tracked in the future?

I would think think state AG’s could take this on since it deals with commerce. In TX the AG cannot bring fraud charges against individuals cheating in elections or other criminal cases it must be approved and pushed by a local DA.

Trust me, folks ... it’s entirely possible to live without a mobile phone on your person.

Some people who live in high-danger areas like cities or large suburbs need a phone at all times for emergencies. Take the little old lady who comes out of a night service at church on a busy street and finds she has a flat tire, for instance.

That's why a faraday cage is a good thing to have to prevent tracking on private errands.

Please don't bother to rant about moving out of such areas. We know already.

And for that matter, if your car has "on star" or something similar, it's spying on you too.

OnStar has GPS and a cellular connection back to the OnStar service center. Your car location can be queried any time you have cell/GPS coverage.

Verizon offers a device that plugs onto the OBD bus that is supposed to compete with OnStar. It's not as complete as GM has done significant integration with the vehicle bus.

Both are to be avoided if you’re trying not to be spied on ...

What about those of us who don’t have a “SOCIAL CREDIT SCORE”?

Don’t use any “social media”, no twatter account, no fakebook account, no social media accounts at all except FREE REPUBLIC.

As a matter of fact I hate all social media, including telephones.
Perfectly happy being a SOCIAL OUTCAST!

My phone never leaves the house, don’t like being bothered by 10,000 assholes who I don’t want to talk to!

Don’t answer when I’m at home either, if I want to talk to somebody, I’ll call them myself!
