If Texas goes then the secession bug will spread all through the South and mid west like wildfire.

There is nothing in the US Constitution prohibiting secession, it is silent on the issue. Please read the US Constitution and stop spreading misinformation.

Pay attention to what the issue was about, Texas and it’s contract with joining the Union.

I believe that in time the union will gradually drift apart and depending on the era and at what level American fragmentation and disintegration are at, secession will either be just an incredibly nasty and bitter legal battle, or will involve bloodshed.

Therefore, a vote on TEXIT is now the official position of the Republican Party of Texas.

I believe it has been for a number of years now.

I tell the truth and that makes me the weirdo?

Go ahead, post the part of the US Constitution that prohibits state secession. I'll wait...

When admitted to the Union they reserved the right to Texit.

So we can go when we want.

When Texas was admitted to the Union if agreed to abide by the Constitution. Texas has the same powers and privileges as all the other states, no more and no less.

So no, Texas may not.

The right they reserved was to divide into multiple states, not to secede.

And even that was a one-time only chance that could be exercised only on admission to the Union. After that, dividing was controlled by Article IV of the Constitution.

If they leave the union, then they will be a separate national ‘entity’.

They will need to raise their OWN taxes, their OWN army, their OWN currency, create their OWN foreign diplomacy, develop their OWN allies, and appoint their OWN diplomats....and do everything a nation does to protect it's citizens ... they will have to support and defend themselves, on their OWN, without US involvement.

How many ostriches exist on FR?

These comments bashing TEXIT are mainly coming from the above who have NEVER been to the TNM website or attended one of its rallies.

Pure ignorance and lack of understanding.

You should learn to spell secession before trying to sound like an expert on it.

I don’t look for a gradual transition, if it happens.

What we face today with the Globalist threat and Great Reset (BS) will not end well. There is no precedent for the scale of this assault.

Yes, very likely.

I’m not for secession at this point. But know others who are.

I would like to learn more about this if there is a more detailed article or essay somewhere. I support Texit as a last resort, but this ⬆️ that you described would be preferable. Im afraid our country is too dumbed down to understand this idea though. Would need a massive massive marketing and educational campaign. But if it’s the right way to save our country, we shouldn’t let difficulty stop us.

Texas is in a singular class here. When they voted to join the union and no longer be the Independent Republic of Texas, they did so with a caveat , a condition , written into their accepting of Union Membership with the United States. It expressly gives Texas the right to rescind it’s statehood should a simple majority of voters cast the needed votes.

That is a myth. When Texas joined the Union in 1945, it was stipulated that the state could divide itself into as many as 4 states if it desired. There was no allowance for later leaving the Union.
