One of the best posts I’ve seen here.

But do change 40 to 20... or perhaps even 10. Things are moving fast.

I clicked on New Posts To You and it took me only to your post . . . to me. So I had not seen the organization.

Rystad are not buffoons. They are slightly newly arrived people in the world of oil. The actual quotes from them largely are about resources, not reserves. I don’t know how much you know of this so I won’t lecture on 1P and 2P and commercially underway projects — meaning the difference between resources and reserves. I’ll just note that resources are defined in a less stringent way than reserves.

The SPE has standards on these definitions, and that’s good because the SEC gets involved in what can be declared as Reserves. Proven, Probable and Possible have always had deceptive % numbers quoted (90%, 50% and 10%) and they reason the SEC sticks their nose in it is these are assets on a company’s balance sheet.

I am not trashing Rystad particularly. They are aware of all of these intricacies, and they are sometimes misquoted because they like to talk resources and the US centric oil media just leaps to call that reserves.

The EIA knows the score and you’ll find they match up with the wiki pretty well.

Note that all consultants, be it Rystad or Woods McKenzie or whoever, want to provide an answer they were paid to provide. Consultants were brought in to assess KSA’s reserves when Saudi Aramco was on the verge of selling significant % to the public, so they upticked the long existing numbers to justify valuation sought.

I think you’ll find most quality folks quoting reserves, not resources, will not put the US at #1.

Most people are unaware of how rapidly geopolitics are changing. Our long term effort to “destabilize Russia” and create “regime change” is definitely accelerating those changes in a very negative way for us.

Interesting comments from the Duran analysts today:

The Duran

Alex Christoforou: Is the ruble getting too strong?

Alexander Mercouris: Yeah, the central bank, the Russian central bank is becoming a bit concerned about this because it is worrying that the rise of the ruble is going to start affecting exports and there is even rumors that it has actually intervened in the foreign currency markets...sold rubles and bought dollars, euros, whatever in order to prevent the ruble strengthening too far. I am not sure how it can do that given the sanctions. But, there is this rumor and it’s actually been published in the Russian media.

I think that the ruble will continue to strengthen over time because all the indicators point in that direction. But, I think what the central bank may want to do is to slow it down and I think what with capital controls and all the rest and with Russia now seriously considering quitting the World Trade Organization which is a huge topic which we might want to discuss at some point. But, with Russia now talking about doing that the Russians are now able to pursue economic policies which won’t need a weak ruble any longer and maybe that’s the kind of policies they should have followed in the first place.

“Early on, Zelenski should have, as most hoped, gone to the negotiating table and ceded the provinces to Russia and avoid having his country pulverized”

He was stopped from doing so by the US and UK. For real. The US owns him, after all.

I am ashamed the US is doing this, giving billions to military contractors, in exchange for family and campaign kickbacks, propping up the US State Department’s toxic money laundering playground, demanding they fight to the last Ukrainian.

My eyes have been opened. This is close to criminal, what the US government is doing, including Congress. I sure didn’t vote for any of this crap!!!

The American Government is corrupt as hell, out of control, and despised by the world. And me.

Record inflation, gas through the roof, food shortages, invasion across our border—close to 3 MILLION INVADERS THIS YEAR!!!!! Trannies twerking in front of kindergartners. FBI is KGB, SWAT raiding Patriots and ignoring black mobs of rioters burning and looting cities, they comitted sedition against a sitting President then exhonerated themselves.

And our idiots in Congress take Junkets back to Ukraine and dump 50 TRILLION DOLLARS into that shiitehole!!! Ukraine was in on the sedition against Trump!!!! Biden gives Ukraine billions, and they give the Bidens tens of millions!!!

I WANT MY COUNTRY BACK!!!!
