What is wrong with you? Funding your daughter at leftist boot camp? Hoping she will see the light?
This isn’t 30 Years ago.
This is 1917.
Yes
Thank you for your post. Those are good suggested readings.
You got it right. It is hard to read the news these days. I go between outrage and sadness and have to stop reading. Life has changed and it hasn’t changed for the better.
Like a person discovering Christianity and being born-again, this is this guy’s personal testimony of leaving the darkness of leftism and discovering the truth of conservatism.
Yes-
I have the exact same views.
.
Ah, those champions of the poor and disenfranchised!
You need a refresher course in sarcasm.
He will find no home in the Republican party, the cheaper and shabbier “Me-to” dictators.

I have been “turning away” for years. Too much arrogant and dissembling ‘stuff’ across the country for me to be comfortable in either camp or any of the off shoots.
Now I do have a path. It has taken years to get to the point of “comfort”, with my decision that I do not belong much of anywhere. I am more or less reconciled to not fitting in much of anywhere and, like the author of this piece, telling the truth without rancor is best, no matter what. The no matter what now often emerges as a big question mark as I am no longer much secured in reports of anything from the Right, Far Right, the Left or the Far Left, any fringe group or from any space they might occupy.
I can only get more information, see if it fits my self-perceived judgement and support or not support the outcome.
My history is a little different from many Americans in that I had no idea I was “white” while functioning as a hyerlogical “girl” who was not supposed to be good at much.
The road I took was very similar to the road many have taken. Some of my greatest “growth moments” occurred as I listened to my mother-in-law, who was a Cajon and had a MS in English that she taught in Louisiana. She worked for that degree in the 1920s. I absolutely adored her. I never heard her lie; she was a stuanch supporter of the Catholic Church even as she spoke of her belief systems that absolutely were not Catholic. She saw her family very clearly, and their children clearly. In no way did she judge them. She felt they could work “it” all out as they would. Note it was not as they “could”.
Someone asked me a while ago “Aren’t you lonely having no one to agree with you?”. No, as long as I can read and evaluate and help others I will be fine. Besides it isn’t as if I was hiding in a cave or in the limbs of a tree, is it?
Perhaps we both need a refresher course.
Possibly so, in which case it would be interesting to hear them contend over the areas where he still hasn’t quite seen the light.
