I was taken to task by some FReepers simply for saying that yes, the 2014 Coup in Ukraine was actually a coup.

Maybe it was a coup, maybe it wasn’t. Maybe Oliver Stone has some reason to portray it that way (propaganda) or maybe he legitimately believed it in his heart and brain. Why is YouTube censoring it? Because it’s popular to portray only one set of opinions in this country right now???
I could completely end up disagreeing with it. I haven’t seen it and have no idea. But here is the cancel culture again.
It’s only because YouTube picked a side, albiet, in this case it’s on the more popular side for the most part, but that doesn’t make it okay. In my opinion, most of Michael Moore fakeumentaries are very slanted. I’m not calling for them to be cancelled. Neither is YouTube. Why do they get to pick?

Ukraine ousted its democratically elected pro-Russia government and replaced it with a pro-Western government through other-than-democratic means (violent protests, i.e. “Revolution of Dignity”).
I guess technically one could argue that Yanukovych fled the country, leaving a political vacuum. But by definition this still qualifies as a coup.

I am not disagreeing with you, but the headline read that Stone was critical of the Coup. It surprised me. I thought Stone was partial to Commies. But there is one thing You tube is not going to allow to be posted upon it and that is the truth. If you tube allows it to stay. You know that it is a lie.

Pro/Con...It tells a pretty valid story of what was happening in Ukraine leading up to 2014. I don’t see anything wrong with that. Most of eastern Ukraine sides with Russia.
