The way “Cockburn” describes all his secret sources reeks of “narrative being pushed”. The Pence angle is just too convenient. Mebbe someone should ask Pence directly.
Simply issuing a statement that he didn’t do it does not set the record straight. As far as I am concerned, the only way to clear his name is to disclose the name of the person who did it. They know who it was. Until they do this we need to hold Special Agent David Bailey responsible.

Secret service are highly trained NOT to kill. Look at close on attempts on Presidents, Reagan, Ford, etc. Secret service takes down the threat non-lethally.

The killer is likely Lt. Mike Byrd. Any other misdirection is just to muddy the water…
Let’s work our way backwards re who the possible shooter of Ashley Babbit COULD BE.
Film did not show an “uniformed” Capital Police Officer do the shooting.
Film showed a man, possibly, black, possibly with some kind of wristband on, do the shooting.
Eliminate a female suspect.
Eliminate an uniformed officer, male or female.
Eliminate DC PD officer. That is not their jurisdiction.
LEFT WITH:
Possible Capital Police undercover/plainclothes officer, specifically a male.
Possible Secret Service agent in plain clothes. Possibly but not likely as other commenters have explained.
Possibly one of two black police officers, probably with the Capital Police or a subset of Congressional security officers.
Possibly a special security officer assigned to high ranking Democrat House or Senate leaders (i.e. Pelosi, Schumer, Durbin, etc). If so, they were out of their security operational range.
The Babbit family should try to find out, under a FOIA request, the names of those law enforcement officers who were on duty on Jan. 6th and those whose duty signments would cover the general/specific area where Ashley was shot.
Chances are they won’t get it unless their lawyer can see it “in camera” and under a non-disclosure oath. If they do get a chance to see such as list, I hope they would have also asked for duty-uniform photos for each one so that some could be immediately eliminated while other potential offices and lawsuit targets, could be properly identified.
Worth a try. Worth seeing how that duty rooster would be covered up, denied, disappeared.

Whether true or false, Pence is still a traitor and nothing will ever change that fact.
It would make sense that the crowd was getting too close to the chain of succession for the continuity of the govt. ie VP,Speaker,etc..
Crap was hitting the fan in a hurry along with much confusion. Doesn’t surprise me at all that someone got shot by the police or secret service.
This was not near Pence and not at an access point to him.

my pet theory is that it is Pelosi security and he shot becouse moments earlier word went out about Pelosi’s computer being stolen and Ashli Babbett matched the verbal description that went out over communications.
