Yes, he handled it poorly but much of that is from 1+ years of frustration. Doesn’t excuse his rude behavior but I can understand he let his pent-up frustrations out on the wrong person.
I feel he could have tastefully interrogated the employee about the rules and presented it without getting personal with the employee.
I did my shopping in Walmart today in northern Illinois. Haven’t worn a mask the last five times I’ve shopped there and was the only person in the store without a mask on those previous occasions. Today I observed three other people shopping without masks.
After about a half hour I get to the deli for some lunch meat and get waited on by a TrigglyPuff looking monster who asked if I had a mask, I answered no. She then asked me if I got my vaccinations and I told her it’s none of her business, and she was violating HIPAA laws by asking. She then said she wouldn’t wait on me, so I told her she better find someone who can, and she stormed off into the back room. An older woman with her mask down on her chin came out and apologized and got my order.
They can’t be allowed to go on with their stupidity any longer.
Even more reason to not be a dick to the working stiff at the door.
Being a dick to a employee who is only following orders is a bad look. Dude needs to grow up and shop somewhere else. This is like some asshole complaining about a stores no shirt/shoes no service rules.
There's nothing 'medical' about it. It's just simple tyranny
LOL....use any word you can to explain away being a rude, annoying, egotistical JERK
Why not take on the management instead of an employee who has nothing to do with store policy? Coward
So brave of you 🙄
Private property…they can make their own rules. Too bad Ricky. Stop acting like a child…and go shop elsewhere.
Employees enforcing mask rules is not like Nazis. If you really believe that, you either don’t understand what it’s like to be an employee, or you don’t quite grasp what the Nazis were up to.
On May 1 our county took off the Mask Mandate. Our local grocery store kept the mandate on, so I started going to our local Walmart for food. Mask were optional. Today our local grocer had removed all signs. I think their business was down. And you don't have to tell me masks are optional. Nobody is going to prevent anyone from going into a store with a mask. In fact I'm thinking about getting one of those Lone Ranger ones.
Then your issue is with the government and not Costco.
As a customer service professional (I managed all phone customer service for a large bank) I would take joy in telling you that we clearly had let you down. I would give you a week to rearrange all of your direct deposits. Then I would shut your account down.
Your antics cost the company much more than we would make from you.
99 out of 100 times, you would back off.
More companies should do that.
Yet, no one is having fits over no shoes, no shirt, no service.
And you’d march right off to the box cars when ordered.🤡
but it also said if local laws require the masks, then Costco does, too.
And that is an important point. CA still requires masks so Costco requires them too...in CA.
Ricky’s beef is with Newsome.
That said, it was so refreshing to excercise at the gym, be in stores and around in general, without a mask. Royboy Cooper finally backed the hell off.
Indeed. I just tell the drone that I am medically exempt. If they persist in their nuttiness, I tell them to refuse me service is an ADA violation, no different from making someone with a seeing eye dog or wheelchair leave.
I’m seeing more irony here.
I should be clear. I’m always respectful. I do not go on a tirade like the guy in the OP did. I never call them stupid though I may say they are working from bad science.
The strongest I ever got with any of them was to explain that I’ve been a costco member since 1988 and I had gotten a sams club membership because they don’t make me wear a mask. I also tell them that I understand they are doing what they are doing because the company requires it. I did call one Karen back about a year ago. He didn’t like that. But I was smiling. :)

it not private property, most if not all big box stores are on land owned by someone else
