I visited the Trinity site in 1995. It used to be open two days out of the year.
Actually, the main positive effect of "The Bomb" is that now the Politicians who gladly send their young men off to die in war can be placed at the same level of risk as those young men.

Fact is, a lot of the people who’ve decried the bombing of Japan wouldn’t be here today if Operation Downfall had gone into effect. My own grandfather who served in Europe had been assigned to jungle training shortly before Japan’s surrender.
