On Thursday, a Spanish court overturned the latest government lockdown restrictions placed on the capital, Madrid, and 9 other cities.
Madrids highest regional court rejected the measures imposed by the Spanish central government, calling them an interference by public authorities in citizens fundamental rights.
Following the judgment, Spanish authorities will not be able to levy fines on people who break the new Wuhan coronavirus restrictions in central Spain, the Spanish newspaper El Pais reported.
The restrictions limited activities outside of the home to going to work, school or medical emergencies, Germanys DW News explained.
The ruling comes as Spain, Germany, and other European countries report a sharp rise in coronavirus cases. As European governments rush to impose fresh restrictions, fearing the so-called second wave of the Chinese virus, public protests against the lockdown measures are growing louder and bigger.

unbelievable this is an issue anywhere.
It should be a FREAKING CHOICE!!!
If you wish to run a business that requires masks.. you should be free to do so, and likewise if you wish to run a business that doesn’t allow them, then you should be allowed to and LEFT THE MARKET decide!
Those who are afraid could go to the mask places and those who are not would go to the non mask places and EVERYONE would be happy!
WHAT IS SO FREAKING HARD ABOUT THAT?
Toronto just announced shutting of restaurants, bars & gyms.
Schools, daycares, hair salons, massage businesses, & stores all allowed to stay open.
Figure that one out
As a parent, I can just say that this is stupid. Kids get bored and reckless without physical excercise.
People can wear a mask all the time if they feel like it. You know what? I choose not to drink whiskey. There’s no law that says a 35 year old man like myself can’t drink whiskey, I just choose not to.
like smoking no smoking...before the total bans
What stays open or closed makes absolutely no sense.
exactly, but the busy bodies can NEVER allow choice!
they should be so in favor of this. All the people they hate would be somewhere else infecting and killing each other while they are their fearful friends go to “safe” places that require masks.
The solution is soooooooooooo freaking easy, only a leftist could miss it, because in the end, for leftists, its always about CONTROL!
All of this government overreach, treating adults like children, will have the effect of making people resistant to taking good common sense measures in the future when they are warranted.
This story shows that America is not the only place where people resent being treated like livestock. Politicians and government officials need to take a few steps back ... while they can.
If Spain gets it, why can’t we?
Child care of various sorts is crucial. Ontario is working out a modus vivendi by trial and error.
Because it’s the new war on terror, or war on drugs, or war on whatever, where the government says hey, let’s go to the most extreme measures just to make sure everyone is safe, and ends up making it more dangerous and rediculous in the process.
If this was a pandemic with millions of healthy people dropping like flies, almost nobody would consider the individual right to assemble or run a business to be more important than minimizing the extreme death toll.
The real question here is: when is a pandemic “deadly enough” to warrant such actions? And how early on in the pandemic must the restrictions begin to “get ahead” of it?
This seems to be purely a matter of opinion and can be debated forever.
The initial models for covid19 showed the possibility of millions dead without taking action. They were probably wrong but what if we did nothing and they turned out right?
“Ontario is working out a modus vivendi by trial and error.”
By bankrupting every restaurant owner in the city?
The projections are highly unverifiable, but stats from low restriction areas don’t make the worst projected outcome appear likely at all.
